January 26, 2006 [ Updated May 1, 2007 ] This HyVee liquor store actually has a pretty decent beer selection, the best I’ve found overall in the Quincy/Hannibal region. They have your basic imports that you see everywhere, Bass, Corona, Guinness, Harp, Modelo, Tecate, etc..., they also have one or more selections from Chimay, Lindemans, Ayinger, Bavaria, DAB, Franzikaner, Hacker-Pschorr, Konig Ludwig, Paulaner, Spaten, Tucher, Warsteiner, Birra Moretti, Grolsh, Pilsner Urquell, Tyskie, Bishops Finger, John Courage, Fuller’s, McEwans, Newcastle, Old Peculiar, Samuel Smith, Tennent’s, Anchor Stream, Berghoff, JW Dundee’s, Elmwood, Goose Island, Huber, Ommegang, Red Hook, Rogue, Sam Adams, Schlafly, Sierra Nevada, Sleeman, Summit, Three Floyds and Widmer Brothers. All the beer is kept cold, the imports and micros in a long open shelved cooler along the front and the macros in coolers along the side wall. The vast majority of the seasonals are macro products. The store is clean, dust free and they seem to have a good turnover rate, I don’t believe age will be a quality problem.
