popephred (5), Plainfield, Illinois does not count - explanation | | July 28, 2008 [ Updated July 30, 2008 ] New liquor store in the area next to a CVS pharmacy. Ambiance is what you would expect from a strip mall store: brightly lit with florescent lights, linoleum flooring, etc. As far as selection goes, don’t expect much. While they may have a number of micros, this is a store that focuses on macros, moderate-priced wine, and liquor sales. They have two coolers devoted to individual bottle sales, though the overall selection is lacking and a six pack of mix and match rang in at $10. On one visit, I did have the person ringing my sale ask for my preferences, other visits have been matter-of-fact and perfunctory. On my last visit, the cashier did provide me with his opinions of the beers I picked, which was nice. However, it does get the job done and it does carry some beer that I really like, so that will keep me coming in. I wouldn’t go out of my way though to find it, though... |
