| railcat1 (10), Hammond, Indiana | | November 27, 2008 This is small but has a lot of potental with the Brewer being the former head brewer at FFF i see a great future for this brewery.CHEERS! | | hotstuff (23), Indiana | | October 29, 2008 Small brewpub with a pizza parlor. Small bar area, (7 tables and 5 seats at the bar). The beers on tap were Sara Blonde Ale and Kil Mister Stout and while both were very good I favored the stout. Very flavorable and tasty. Talked to Jim Cibak for quite some time and I concluded that there are many more good things to come at this establishment and I look forward to making many revisits to try what’s new on tap. A definite stop if in the area. | | Cornfield (138), Oak Forest, Illinois | | September 20, 2008 I agree with the prior two raters. This is a new brewpub with great possibilities. Attached to a pizza parlor with a fair sized beer garden (Who the heck says patio?), there’s plenty of room for all. Being there on a weekday afternoon, I got a chance to talk with brewer Jim Cibak for quite a while. He seems to have a good idea of what he wants to accomplish and it sounds good to me. Only two brews were on tap when I was there, a hoppy porter and a mild ale, and both were quite good. This is a place to keep your eye on. | brauen (4), Crown Point, Indiana does not count - explanation | | August 29, 2008 Great brew pub in its infancy, only showing promise for the future. A small nook backed by a reputable staff, great example of simplicity meets elegance. Limited capacity, take advantage of outdoor seating while the weather is tolerable. Only two beer on tap at a time for now but they go fast!! Blonde Ale and Porter currently on tap. The porter is distinct in its ability to seperate the chocolaty flavors from the bitter hoppiness. I would recommend the blonde ale to anyone visiting a brew pub for the first time. Only better things to come. See you Sept. 27th for Oktoberfest ! | | BBB63 (92), La Porte , Indiana | | July 23, 2008 Just out of the gate but I am impressed with what I saw so far. A small brewpub with a pizza joint attached. The two beer on tap were both very good to style. I talked quite a bit with the brewer and he seems to have a clue to how to appeal to beer geeks and the casual drinker at the same time. Expect bigger beer come wintertime. I able reviewing this brewery on as much promise as the current state of brewing. A must try before heading up to Three Floyds. |
