| BigBang (11), Indiana | | July 12, 2008 Crown Liquors is outstanding. They have a fantastic selection of beers and they know how to take care of their customers. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They know me well and usually have recommendations when I walk in the door. They make sure that folks get at least a bit of the special brews and their prices are extremely reasonable. Yes, Mike Sprinkle is very kind and I will continue my patronage and recommend them to others. | kmwinter (1), Fishers, Indiana does not count - explanation | | July 7, 2008 This store was recommended to me by TheDM and Hotstuff and I was not disappointed. Nice clean shop not too far from the interstate. The selection isn’t huge but it’s made up for by having many hard to find or vintage beers. You can tell that the beers on sale were hand picked for a reason. If Sprinkle is there he’ll go out of his way to suggest his favorites which are always worth trying. Beer tastings on Fridays include top shelf beers. This is my beer shop of choice.
| StFun (8), Indiana does not count - explanation | | January 27, 2008 Very nice place! Missed Sprinkle the day I came up, but will visit again and again, so I’m sure I’ll see him next time!! Very nice and clean set up, wide aisles, nice displays. Selection seemed smallish at first, but the longer I looked, the more I realized they had! Really awesome selection, brand new brews, as well as some retired stuff lurking around. Not as big a selection as Party Pak, but they had a couple dozen beers the Pak didn’t have, which made me really happy as that gives even extra incentive to come out. Had a few things I hadn’t seen ANYWHERE else! Service was very good and friendly, prices were nicely low for the Fishers area. Top Notch all the way around. My ONLY suggestion would be to expand the mix-n-match rules to include all the singles, heeheehee. | | ucusty (53), Wake Forest, North Carolina | | January 5, 2008 Unfortunately I missed sprinkles while i visited this store. Wonderful selection, lots of rare/retired finds! I will be sure to return next time im in INDY | lethe (2), Cincinnati, Ohio does not count - explanation | | November 25, 2007 I have been here a handful of times over the last several years when in Indy and have always enjoyed it. Recently, I realized how solid a selection they have: Bell’s 8000 still available, plus excellent Founders and Three Floyd’s in stock. Items that have long disappeared from Cincinnati are frequently still available here. Many gems in stock, plus the discounts, both import and U.S. Was able to sample the Three Floyd’s Harvest thanks to Sprinkle’s generosity. Great place. | | Gregis (18), Shawnee, Kansas | | October 18, 2007 [ Updated April 12, 2008 ] Aside from its more-than-solid selection of beer (Bells, Founders, Dark Horse, 3F, Stone, Avery, Sprecher, Belgians, Germans, etc), this store has one major advantage over the competition. It’s managed by Sprinkle, a fellow RateBeerian. I had very little time to shop for beer, and after a few BMs, Mike had pulled all of the beer that I and the KC Crew wanted (including one very hard to get 3F wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more) and had it boxed and ready to go when I came in. I left with nearly $500 in beer and a big smile on my face. Thanks a million, Mike. | | WabashMan (23), Noblesville, Indiana | | October 13, 2007 [ Updated December 4, 2007 ] Having recently moved back to the area, I asked MI2CA for some suggestions of liquor stores and bars/restaurants with good selections. He quickly pointed me to this store, and his suggestion was right on the money. Crown #15 may have a somewhat mechanical, generic corporate name, but it is, in fact, a nicely laid out store with a very nice selection of beers (and wines, by the looks of it!), great depth of selection in Three Floyds and Stone (two of my faves!), and a lot of Belgians. I spotted a number of things I hadn’t tried, and picked up a few of them. Helpful staff offered advice about beer and offered to take our selections to the counter, while we continued shopping. As I sit here writing this, a few sips left in my Bells Batch 8,000 that I picked up there today, I realize one truth: I will be back!
EDIT: Having now been into the store 5+ times, I can say that the staff are really top notch. I’ve never had someone be anything less than helpful. And, as the store constantly gets in new and excellent beers, the selection is exceptional, as well. | | AllAboutStout (30), Cincinnati, Ohio | | June 21, 2007 [ Updated November 28, 2008 ] I stop here on every trip to and through Indy. A well thought out selection that is well represented of the area and quality in brews.
Very super friendly and knowledgable staff (Sprinkle).
About 20 feet of shelf space and the same in fridge space dedicated to micros. Everything is easy to find and you would be hard pressed to not find something to buy everytime you stop by. | | EithCubes (64), Indiana | | June 6, 2007 [ Updated July 8, 2008 ] Ahh, people who know what they’re talking about. This side of the business isn’t rewarded enough.pEasy to find and well kept. Selection isn’t enormous, but what’s there is thoughtfully selected - there’s no chaff here, the every brand is of high quality. And everything in singles! Quite a few cooky rarities and vintages. Good prices, to boot. Got a free Duvel glass, which I will be using frequently. Really a nice experience. | | OhioDad (38), Hilliard, Ohio | | May 4, 2007 Stopped in here on the way home from DLD. Nice store with a large selection of craft beer. Some pretty good bargains too if you look in the right place. Laid out well with all the beer pretty much in one long row along the coolers and in the coolers. Mostly midwest stuff in here and everything is available in singles which is great. Nice store.. | View Page : 1 2
