hopslovin (6), Fort Wayne, Indiana does not count - explanation | | September 7, 2008 I’ve been coming here for years. Always good food, best Pizza in town. Service has gotten much better along the way. Family room is OK, but bar room is in MAJOR need of a re-hab. Opening their 4th restaurant soon, so obviously they are making some money. How about sprucing up the flagship? Decent beer at a fair price. Sometimes they will suprise you with a very good brew. Good vegetarian menu. Lucky to have this place in one of the least Craft Beer friendly cities in the US. | | satan165 (41), River Grove, Illinois | | August 5, 2008 they are going for the ’dive bar’ atmosphere which isnt totally off putting. our waitress was missing a tooth and has a bit of the townie thing going. however beers were only $1.75 and the food was very cheap. i had the ’shroomo’ which was a portobello sandwich on sourdough with pesto and roasted red peppers, very good! i had a side of red beans and rice which were good but i suspect might have been zatarians. my friend had a regular burger (also on special) which he said was average at worst. he had some of their weiss which he said was good. i had the pale ale which was definately interesting. all in all not the greatest, however i definately would stop in again. | johntreeter (7), Greenwood, Indiana does not count - explanation | | May 14, 2008 Cool place. Lots to look at as far as the decor goes. Service was good and the waiter was beer knowledgeable, a plus. Food was pub fare with a slight twist and tasty. I had the paddle, just to get a feel. Lagers were respectable I prefer the golden. I do not like fruit beers, but if you do go for their raspberry-wheat. The Harry Baals and Ol’ Woody were excellent. The seasonal I got was a black lager that I then ordered a pint of. Every time I’m in Fort Wayne I’ll visit for as many pints as I can. | | AmEricanbrew (65), Office of The President Elect, , Louisiana | | May 6, 2008 Good sized restaurant/ bar here. Two separate seating areas. One is the family dining area with 1960’s cafe style tables. The other section has the bar with lots of table seating and dimmer lighting than in the family section. The food is suspect, had some mexican that tasted like a Taco Bell offering. Beer wise they were pouring their anniversary DIPA and a decent Oatmeal stout. Overall a nice place to hang and pound a couple brews. | | mdm46410 (19), Griffith, Indiana | | April 23, 2008 A cozy, relaxed brewpub. Nice sized food menu with some tasty selections. They keep a good assortment of their beer on tap. Overall, a great place to have some lunch and try some decent beer. | | kseecs16 (94), Westmont, Illinois | | March 12, 2008 Definitely not a corporate feel in this place. Relaxed dark room, a little run down but cozy. Diverse menu and the food I had was decent. Average service and some nice beers. Limited selection of bottles but more than made up for with nice selection of house taps. | DWestrick (7), Ft Wayne, Indiana does not count - explanation | | January 28, 2008 Always a great time! Good food and decent beer selection. I would recommend to anyone | patrick767 (6), fort wayne, Indiana does not count - explanation | | August 6, 2007 Mad Anthony’s is a nice place to have a couple pints and enjoy some tasty eats. Try the pizza. It’s a bit pricey for pizza, but well worth it. There’s usually a good variety of beers on tap. Some are mediocre to average and some are really very good. There’s not always an IPA available and sometimes the hoppiest thing you’ll find is the always available Ol’ Woody pale ale, but it’s quite good. Besides that you can get anything from a stout of one form or another to a light raspberry fruit beer among the 9-10 beers on tap. Note: You can’t smoke indoors in Fort Wayne businesses anymore, so I’ve removed smoking from the place entry. | kyleg (2), does not count - explanation | | March 13, 2007 Great rotation of selections, nice place to hang out with friends and just enjoy a beer. Always worth filling up a growler when I go by. | | hotstuff (23), Indiana | | September 19, 2006 Nice atmosphere, good menu selection, average prices. Beer can be hit or miss asfaras their specials on tap. In my opiinion, their barrel-aged brews are where they seem to hit the mark. They seem to do a better job with those brews than their regular brews. As it is, about the only time I visit this establishment, is when I know they have a beer on tap that I have not rated. Nice place to take someone who is just starting out getting acquainted with craft beers where they can sample a variety of beer styles. If in Fort Wayne, stop by and sample their brews and definitely their food. Good pizza! | View Page : 1 2
