35 reviews for Kahn’s Fine Wines
| Tmoney99 (254), Cincinnati, Ohio | | August 15, 2009 Stopped here after the Indiana Brewers Guild Summer Fest. Newer building than I expected from the picture. Parking lot in front. Good selection of beers on left side of store with shelfs for bombers and six packs. Good selection but not great. I will not make a special trip, but if in town worth the stop. | | zizzybalubba (33), Elizabeth City, North Carolina | | August 10, 2009 Stopped here last week on the way to GTMW. Given the fact that this was the top rated store in Indiana and that Indiana is home to FFF I expected more. The small amount of FFF for sale was a bit surprising. What I did find there of other beers seemed overpriced from what I am used to (this is based on NC pricing and from what I ended up finding in Munster, IN and what I saw in Madison, WI). The selection, however, is good if not great. I will also add that the store is much nicer than any other store in its neighborhood. I suppose I just expected to be blown away given its inclusion in the Rate Beer Top 50 retailers. | | shawnm213 (42), South Bend, Indiana | | June 11, 2009 Decent selection. some three floyds, upland lambics, cantillon, etc. some stuff seemed slightly overpriced. | | kiefdog (101), Tampa, Florida | | December 29, 2008 Visited in December, 2008. Nice store with a nice selection of imports, regional and national craft beers. Seemed that some of the rarer beers just released in the area (Founders Breakfast Stout, Goose Island Bourbon County Stout) had already been snatched up but still we found several rarer beers (for us native Floridians) to choose from. The staff were helpful and seemed to really know a lot about beer. Prices seemed reasonable for what we say in the area during our visit to Indianapolis. Definitely worth a trip when in the area. | | Rastacouere (475), Montréal, Quebec | | September 25, 2008 Excellent beer store where I could find a large variety of beers that I was looking for as a rare traveller in the midwest. The selection of imported goods was solid, like that of the country’s very good beer stores. The prices were alright, I must say I’ve seen cheaper prices, but did not feel offended and I’m not familiar with prices in the area, but the pints were cheaper than what I’m used to. Of particular interest to me were (Sept 08) 6-8 different Schlafly including 2 reserves, 6-7 from Bluegrass, both 750 and 330mL, Stuff from Thirsty Dog, Mad Anthony, Three Floyds (including Behemoth, Gorch Fork, Dreadnaught...), many vintage JW Lees. On parallel, the staff made sure, a couple of times, that we had what we needed. They did not go beyond that (many places offer freebies when you buy 200$ of beer), but it was agreeable. | psycho11 (2), Indianapolis, Indiana does not count - explanation | | May 19, 2008 It’s the best Beer/Wine store I’ve ever been. They’ve got it all. | | Ughsmash (138), Waukesha, Wisconsin | | January 9, 2008 I stopped by Kahn’s while they were having a tasting, which consisted of some mighty fine stuff! They had a colossal selection of beers that I spent a good half an hour picking through.. Unfortunately I was on business without my car, so I couldn’t take much back with me. They had a lot of stuff that I’d never seen before and/or couldn’t get. The service seemed kind, but rushed, which I’m sure had to do with the tasting. Great place to stop! | | ucusty (53), Wake Forest, North Carolina | | January 5, 2008 Decent selection really close to my inlaws house. Prices seemed a bit steep. They have a deli, i, however did not eat. | | sliffy (86), Columbus, Ohio | | August 31, 2007 I was pumped going inside, it was reminding me of Party Source in Newport Kentucky. Got inside and wasn’t really disappointed at all. A couple big rows of beer, and some local stuff I hadn’t seen yet in the Indy area. Some of the prices however were on the steep side. $10 a 12oz for the JW Lees, and several other that were the highest I’ve seen anywhere. Pretty solid store, certainly more convenient than Crown #15 when traveling through the area, but I would still rather go to Crown. | | tronraner (100), Seymour, Tennessee | | July 31, 2007 Lots of interesting beers are available here, along with tons of regional micros. There were even a few meads mixed in that I’ve not seen elsewhere. I dished out quite a bit of money here... definitely worth the stop. |
