From 12/27 visit: It’s nice to be able to visit my hometown and finally find a place to drink craft beer. There were 9 taps representing Upland, Two Brothers, Founders, BBC and more. Bottle list (approx 35) included some of my favorites from Stone and Great Divide Brewing Co.’s. Prices are as described by "shigadeyo" below. Food was very good also. I had the "Southwest Wrap ($7.45)." The building has a lot of history since it was built originally as a Brewery in 1849. Inside you will find nice wood tables and bar with local history on the walls. Downtown Madison is a great place to visit also. Even more so now since it was designated as a "National Historic Landmark" earlier this year. The owners were very knowledgeable and provided good friendly service. I respect their bold move to carry no "Macros" on their beer list in a small town "Bud" town. Please help support this decision!

McQuiston’s Malthouse is located just slightly West of the main section of historic downtown Madison, Indiana. When I was there on 10/14/2006, they had 10 brews on tap, plus draft Sprecter Root Beer. The beer on tap at the time was Upland Wheat Ale and Porter, Two Brothers Bitter End Pale Ale and Heavy Handed IPA, Sprecher Oktoberfest, Breckenridge Avalanche Amber Ale, BBC Nut Brow Ale, Founder’s Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale, and Stone Arrogant Bastard. Apparently they had just ran out of Two Brothers Domaine DuPage French Country Ale and Great Divide Hercules Double IPA! In addition to the nice selection of draft beer, their prices are reasonable (12 oz = $3.25, 22 oz = $5.00, Pitcher = $12.00) and they offer samplers (Sample 3 = $4.50, Sample 6 = $9.00; Samples are 6 oz each!). Their food is pretty good - my wife and I shared a Mediterranean burger and a Hawiian BBQ Burger. Both are recommended! Food service was fast and their was live music. Parking is readily available on the street. Worth stopping by if you are in the area! Madison is a really nice town and probably one of Indiana’s better kept secrets and get away location. There is lots of history and fun things to do!
