Charlie’s Ale House

No brewing done on site, but they do list a good variety of brews on their menu. I wanted to try a few of the Indiana beers such as stuff from New Albanian and Brugge Brasserie but they seemed to be out of every beer I wanted. Very good menu for lunch or dinner. Quality service.

Convenient hideaway. Nothing special about the selection but it was better than Budweiser. The waitress seemed to forget we were there and I saw people leave because they didn’t get waited on. Food was OK. I had a burger.

Ok, very yuppy happy hour crowd...selection was definitely only slightly better than a convenience store...

Nice ambiance. Sat at the bar with a friend. In the NW Indiana area before the 3F brewpub this was about the best selection of bottles and tapped beers that you could hope for. Now .... meh. Had a sandwich at the bar which was pretty good. Just head over to 3F....

A group of people stopped by Charlie’s Ale House for dinner on the way back to the hotel from Dark Lord Day 2007. It is a very convenient stop since it is located right in front of the Hampton! They have a decent selection of beer of draught, a pretty good menu, and the food was good. The service was a bit slow, but not horrible. Overall it is a decent place to stop for a bite to eat after drinking all day!

Just noticed that this was listed. The only time that I visited here was in the pre-brewpub days at 3F. RAYBOY01, dm9831 and I had the munchies, and this was close. The service was slow, the food was so-so, and the beer selection was mediocre. I’ve passed it by many, many times now without getting the urge to stop in again.

A decent little place where we met with the PA crew for lunch on DarkLord day. The place is fairly nice well kept, the service was ok and the food was pretty good. They had a decent selection of bottles and taps for what they are but nothing outstanding.
