| Braudog (476), Dayton, Ohio | | September 19, 2009 September 2009 - Visited early on a Sunday evening. With its huge outside sitting area, this place was a nice break from the routine in Ireland, offering 5 solid German-style house beers. The lads at the bar were friendly, and the crowd was an interesting mix of European tourists and young, hop Corksters. With no food of their own, they ordered pizza for us from down the street, a good pie, but pricey at 20 Euros. Fun spot. | | mabel (134), Toronto, Ontario | | August 21, 2009 Visited on a Wednesday afternoon in May, there was a nice covered patio in the back (and resident kitty) but we stayed inside the dark bar where they were playing some fun fast music. You can tell a lot of people come here because the floor is so well-worn, in that tanks-behind-the-bar friendly local brewhouse kind of way. Six of their own brews were on tap and some visitors like Boon, Leffe, Rekorderlig, and Chimay. Didn’t try any food other than Tayto crisps, but the service was very friendly and chatty after he got sorted out (we came right when they opened at 3pm). Great place. | | jerc (141), Toronto, Ontario | | May 25, 2009 Nice little place. Did not open until after 300PM when we were there. Atmosphere varies, nice dark wood in the main part with brewing tanks behind the bar, bit more of a patio atmosphere toward the back. Bartender was okay when serving us. A bit more forthcoming later when I starting asking more questions about the local beer scene. It was pretty quiet when we were there - we got there early and had to wait for them to open the doors. Strikes me as someplace that might get quite busy later in the evening. I could see spending a night there. Beers were all serviceable but non particularly stood out. Had a guest tap from White Gypsy when we were there. | mayordenis (3), , does not count - explanation | | May 21, 2009 Lovely little spot - Hosts Seasonal Beer Festivals - Brews a decent range of it’s own Beers, and a fair amount of beers from the continenent. Great Staff, who know there stuff. | onlyrocknroll (2), Cork, Ireland does not count - explanation | | February 7, 2007 Great atmospere here at night or when the weather’s fine. The beers brewed here are ok but there’s a reasonably good selection of Belgian, German, Czech and British beers. One of the better bars in Cork for nightlife but not a great place for a quite beer. | | bluevegie (28), Perth, Australia | | June 30, 2006 Went there on a quiet day (only one other person there) so service was quite good, had a tasting tray and sat outside, if the weather was better it would have been nice and relaxing. |
