| mabel (134), Toronto, Ontario | | August 21, 2009 Visited on a Saturday afternoon in May, our last full day in Dublin, and probably the best beer selection in town that we found. Around the corner from Camden Court Hotel, where we were staying, this little store is packed full of a great beer selection of Irish, UK, Polish and Czech and other places. Would come here over Molloy’s due to location and selection -- not sure about the age of some of the rarer items as they seemed to have a bit of dust collecting. We tried a couple back at the hotel and they seemed fine. Service was good, he just sort of stayed behind the counter and watched us go through the store. Definitely worth visiting! | | jerc (142), Toronto, Ontario | | May 25, 2009 Interior feels older than it probably is based on the shelving - in a good characterful way. Decent selection of imports, bit light on the Irish selection but they had the same three Whitewater brews as elsewhere. We ended up with a few German, Polish, and English bottles. The best selection we saw in Dublin (we only really went to Molloys and various Centra/Spar type places while in Dublin) and we only randomly walked into it because it was close to our hotel after loading up on UK Dairy Milk bars at the Tesco up the street. Well worth checking out if you are in town. | Bransmark (7), Århus C, Denmark does not count - explanation | | April 10, 2009 The green sign actually reads Carvills and Sons.
Best collection of beers I saw in Dublin.
An old fashioned luxury shop.
Have a great selection of international beers, but I was looking for Irish beers, and they haven’t got much besides the usual suspects. A few different varieties from North Ireland Whitewater Brewery.
Very nice and good service. |
