September 21, 2008 Beers were decent, though not super exciting. I liked the Irish Red Ale. We were there in the afternoon, so it was rather slow and relaxing. I quite enjoyed myself. The architecture is really fascinating. |

August 9, 2008 Nice cozy pub near the hart of Dublin, with a few home made brew, not bad, but they are not all the time available, and indeed slow service. |

June 17, 2008 Let’s start with the good... Located right off O’Connell Street and a stones throw from Temple Bar and Trinity College this Brewpub is right in the thick of it in downtown Dublin. The location itself is very nice and comfortable. The bad... almost everything else. The service was slow and the bartenders knew nothing about beer. The beer itself is a little bland and unimaginative. It’s worth checking out if just for a few different taps. That said, next time I’m in Dublin I’ll likely skip this. |

March 25, 2008 Big old pub with quite ornate wood carvings and wooden floors. Quiet and kind of empty when we were there during the day, and *cold* (in March). Service was adequate. Beers were not bad, and they had four of their own on tap. It’s a place to go to get four ratings, basically. |

January 12, 2007 A massive, three story pub, that somehow keeps its charm from floor to floor, barman to barmaid. I’m quite surprised to see the generally negative attitude towards Messrs. Maguire as I found it to be a clear highlight of the Dublin pub scene. A young crowd shares the many corners and tables of this venue, discerning better beer and conversation. The beer itself remains a prop, tolerable but far superior to the common set of taps - a highly drinkable product that comes in many equally enjoyable flavors. The food was surprisingly tasty on both nights I ate, though my steak was substantially overcooked. The perfect place to chat with a very good friend. |

October 11, 2006 The beers were rather boring, the staff were mostly concerned with playing cards with each other. Quiet in the early evening. |

September 17, 2006 Dirty and noisy. Own beers are just tolerable - samplers available. I didn’t like the place. Historic location though .. |

July 19, 2006 House brews were ok but I was expecting a bit better. Service was good and the place seemed friendly enough. Worth a visit if in Dublin. |

March 17, 2006 Well, actually I can’t believe this place has deteriorated so much over the last few years. When I first went there (around 2000), it was a simply perfect place with excellent beers. Over time, it became really dirty and they added Heineken and Guinness to their range of beers and promoted them massively. At the same time they reduced their own brewing. Before this, they had the full range of own beers (they had 6 constantly available plus one or two extras). Last time I went there they only had two left, both of which were very good. Lunch is ok and reasonably priced. Very nice building, gets crowded in the evenings, come early. Live music at weekends. Large screens to show sports events. Several national newspapers available for reading (free). Still a nice place to be. |

July 30, 2005 Visited this place twice. Once in 2000 and recently this summer 2005. Cool brewpub looking out over the River Liffey just off O’Connell St. Good Irish fare (as good as it gets anyway). Their house brews are delicious. Great place to hang out. |
