| MartinT (304), Montreal, Quebec | | August 30, 2008 Came here for aperitivo, but they had their work cut out for them because I was expecting something as good as the Lambrate aperitivo. Quite possibly, an impossible task. Anyhow, Hop had 6 Lambrate taps, 2 from Bi-Du, and 2 from Troll, so I was sure to find something potentially very good. I went for the 2 Bi-Du. One was indeed very good, but the other was served flat...not sure that was the brewery’s intention. The crostinis and cold cuts they served with the beer were very basic, but how can you complain when you are given free food with your beer! This aperitivo concept is simply wonderful, imho. The dark wooden furniture was very nice, as was the immense mirror which nearly takes up an entire wall. I’d certainly come back here if I had a few days in Milan, but if you are in a hurry, I’d go straight to Lambrate and stay there for an entire session. | | Scauca (17), Lovere, Italy | | July 15, 2008 Nice bar with an interesting selection of northern Italy’s crafts, served a bit too cold and carbonated. Nice ambiance and service, simple but rather good food. | | Rastacouere (415), Montréal, Quebec | | August 1, 2007 A small place ran by a grumpy old woman, but that manages to present a nice range of beers from some of Northern italy’s top breweries: Draught Baladin, Lambrate, Bi-Du. The beers were in good condition and the place has a good vibe to it,, the beer boards on the walls all are quite attractive. |
