| nate2g (59), Brisbane, Australia | | December 26, 2008 Visited in September 08. Put this on my list as a must place to visit and man am I happy I did. This place has an extensive range of Italian beers as well as great beers from Europe and elsewhere. John has great knowledge of the beers and really opened my eyes to my very limited knowledge of Italian craft beers. John is a legend and thanks once again for the shirt...will definitely stop by again if only for another shirt as Ive already worn this one out. Cheers! | fata2683 (2), APO, New York does not count - explanation | | December 20, 2008 I was given bad directions from my hotel to a local supermarket and stumbled upon Off License. What a great little place. Very clean and wide open inside. John came out from behind the counter, I explained that I wanted a few good bottles of Italian craft beer to drink and a few to take home. He asked what styles I liked, and walked me through all of the Italian bottles he had. He was very informative and suggested certain bottles based on style and uniqueness. Besides Italian beer, there was an awesome variety of Belgian, English, American and other various European beers. Wine is also available and covers the other half of the shop. Please take my advice and seek this spot out, it will be worth your time even if it is just to carry a good conversation on beer. Thanks John. | Bibbo (1), , Italy does not count - explanation | | October 31, 2008 Best Beer shop in Rome!
They have all small breweries products from Italy and more | | Furseth (13), Kungälv, Sweden | | September 21, 2008 Was here in May 2008. This is one of the best beer shops I`ve been in.Werry nice staff, that shared 2 bottles of beer with me,and show me the best beers they have. Werry good selections of Intalian micros. When Im in Rome next time, I will comming back to this fantastic beer shop. | | MartinT (304), Montreal, Quebec | | August 30, 2008 [ Updated September 23, 2008 ] This store near S.Giovanni station cannot be topped in Italy, methinks. The Italian micro selection is simply wonderful (Bi-Du, Sgauraunda, Zahre, BItaliano, Barley, Baladin, Montegioco, Amiata, 32 Via del Birrai, Borgo, Almond 22, Maltovivo, etc.) and there are a LOT of high quality imports as well (Struise, Olfabrikken, Cantillon, De la Senne, Flying Dog, etc.). Such an ingenious mix of local and foreign brews can only be seen in the USA (in my experience). The guy behind the counter (not the Irish owner, in my case) was quite knowledgeable and willing to offer info on the Italian brews each time I brought them to the counter. Didn’t find a better store in the entire country for quality beer. Bravissimo! | hirigalzkar (1), Stockholm, Sweden does not count - explanation | | August 26, 2008 Easy to find. Located very close to the S.Giovanni Metro station. Very friendy staff. Good selection of Belgian beers and Italian microbreweries. Too bad a lot of the good stuff mentioned on the website, where out of stock when I visited the store in june (08). | | Stew41 (68), Caulfield, Australia | | May 31, 2008 Must be the best beer store in the country. Very good pricing, awesome range and very good serivce from John the owner, who is Irish so English should work :) Very good selection of top-flight Beligian beers as well. It’s important not to ignore the wine range.....the selection criteria is as per the beers (ie high quality small producers) and all the recos I bought were excellent. | beedeecee (1), , Italy does not count - explanation | | April 15, 2008 Small, but great. Wide selection of beers for such a small store, and a very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Johnny even wrote down some other places for me to check out, so I could get some decent beer in Rome. | lozofun (1), Rome, Italy does not count - explanation | | March 22, 2008 a beer-oasis in city center! very low prices, great selections! | | Rastacouere (415), Montréal, Quebec | | August 1, 2007 Certainly the place to go to buy beer in Rome. They even have lots of them in fridges, a luxury in italy. So you can expect to find stuff from the country’s top breweries: Panil, birrificio italiano, bi-du, almond 22 and lots of others on top of a most respectable range of imports. Maybe 400 bottles total on top of a few top-class wines. Extremely helpful staff taking their time with recommendations and making us have a good time. English-speaking and enthusiast. A tiny place that feels most welcoming. | View Page : 1 2
