| TimE (105), Tokyo, Japan | | September 9, 2007 Sister pub of Frigo (Shinjku) and Favori (Ginza). Definetely have some rare stuff. They also seemed to have stopped with a stupid policy of not letting non-members of the pub buy their specially (very rare) imported brews. I prefer Frigo because its bigger and better for groups. | | zebracakes (17), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | January 11, 2007 CMUBEERMAN found this while we were out wandering. It was quite a pleasant environment, good selection of beer, but very expensive. | | CMUBEERMAN (39), Madison, Wisconsin | | January 11, 2007 This place is pretty cool Quite expensive, but they had a decent selection. They also have some really bad ass glassware and...unfortunately...a few bad ass beers that they won’t sell. | | aceofhearts (10), San Francisco, California | | July 31, 2005 From Shibuya station, take the East exit and turn right (you will be walking along Meiji Dori). Go straight over the first road (on the crossover) bridge, keeping on the right side. Belgo will be less than a block forward.
I’m happy to be able to check the "rare beers" box. Unless you’re either Oakes/Per/Michael Jackson or you’re FROM Belgium, it’s a guarantee that you’ll see unfamiliar lables here. The bottles are mostly from Belgium though there are a few other Euro/US micros. Bonus feature: a new rotating tap every week! Also they put a LOT of pride in their glassware, their collection behind the counter is impressive.
Bad side: prices are 2-3x what you’d pay in stores; most of the bottles are 1000 Yen or more. |
