| austinpowers (151), New York, New York | | April 5, 2008 About 30 micros and maybe 20 macros. Located on level B1 immediately below the Ginza line subway station - get off the platform and immediately take the escalator down about 30 meters from the Ginza platform. I was impressed with the selection. | | Marc (13), Yokosuka, Japan | | December 9, 2007 Classic Japanese underground foodie department store. Decent selection of beers and a great Sake selection with samples. | | faroeviking (96), The Autonomous Beer Republic,, Faroe Islands | | December 5, 2007 Food, food, food, loads of sake and then the beer department. Not as big as I suspected but still a good selection. You can not allow yourself not to check out all the sake if you are there. Not just obasan (grandmother) staff working there. | | TimE (105), Tokyo, Japan | | August 10, 2007 A liquor store with an OK selection of Japanese micros and numerous imports. It carries several brands other places don’t seem to carry (ie. Iwatekura and Iki -iki). 30 seconds from Shibuya Hichiko exit - you can’t miss Tokyu Department Store. Don’t expect to load up at this place and several of the beers they carry are average at best. Beer is not the focus here (nice selection of sake though) and hence don’t expect the staff to know very much (if anything) about the beers they carry.
Sidenote: Oddly one of Tokyo’s best Vietnamese resturants is also down there. Worth checking out. |
