This is a classic example of not to pick places listed in the free paper Metropolis and make sure to check them here before you go. Metropolis listed this place as 30 draft beers. Sounds good right? But when I got there it was 30 different kinds of WINE and 6 draft beers! Oops! The draft beers were just Kirin, Heartland, Guinness, Ebisu Black, Ebisu Kohaku and some wana be looking micro beer made by Kirin called Spring Valley. How can you call this place Beer Next and have more wine than beer?! Lame. The food looked good but nothing really made me want to eat there as the food prices were kind of high. The ambience inside the old Akarenga shopping center is soo nice that it could save this place from getting really a really low rating from me. That and there are other nice restaurants and places to shop at inside this vintage red brick warehouse from the 1920’s turned into a shopping mall, so the day wasn’t a total waste. You can also walk over to the amusement park or go take a boat ride within a 5 or 10 min walk from here. I decided to eat a burger at some Hawaiian burger place on the first floor of Akarenga and headed pissed off punk rock style to Trash Zone in search for some real beer.
