3 reviews for Hideaway Saloon
| 502Flavors (37), Louisville, Kentucky | | June 7, 2009 I visit this palce regularly. Prices are generally good, beer selectio is solid, but nothing truely spectacular as far as I have seen. Pool tables and lost of live music that is usually pretty good. Kind of a dive bar that is a favorite for both hipsters and B-Town Rd. druggies. No one who works there really know anything about beer as far as I have experienced. P.S. Compass40204, I’m pretty sure its against the rules to rate a place you are employed at. Also, is Hideaway doesn’t brew beer, how will you be serving your own beer on tap? | | Ryan82SM (26), Louisville, Kentucky | | April 30, 2009 Ambiance is low key and mellow, some Dead playing downstairs, Mayfield upstairs. Kinda shady though. Could use some "sprucing up." Service was fine, the bartender there recommended beers I had already drank, but liked. Selection was among the best in Louisville (only Sergio’s and Rich O’s trumps it) with Kasteel, Chimay, Unibroue, Stone, Dogfish Head, Samiclaus, Loose Cannon, Avery, St. Peter and Samuel Smith. Didn’t eat, but got a good beer for a good price. Unfortunately, there was smoking upstairs, which is illegal in our city. If this place could not be so shady, it could draw some positive attention as a serious beer bar. | compass40204 (5), Louisville, Kentucky does not count - explanation | | January 22, 2009 [ Updated November 10, 2009 ] I’ve been going to the Hideaway for over 5 years. It became my favorite bar rather easily and I became friends with the owner. For the past 3 years I’ve actually worked there, so I’m obviously biased. That said, our beer selection has gone from a couple dozen to over 150. Yes, that’s been partly my doing. Please stop in and check us out; you’ll be glad you did. And feel free to suggest new beers. This year we’ll also have our own brews on draft. That’s my job, too. I look forward to hearing your feedback. |
