New Yaohan Supermarket

Probably the biggest, nicest grocery store on Macau. Arriving at the ferry terminal, follow the signs to New Yaohan Dept Store - it’s a 3 min walk (timed it), but Per’s probably quicker than me. ha ha. Has about 25 beers, including Macau and Macau Blond, as well as Sagres, Sagres Preta, and Super Bock. As an aside, if you’re looking for Super Bock Stout, I could only find it at a grocery just north of Guia Hill on Avenida Sidonia Pais between Avenida do Coronel Mesquita and Avenida do Ouvidor Arriaga (the mid-sized grocery store, whose name I didn’t catch, is on the side of the street that has Guia Hill, i.e. the SouthEast side). Back to New Yaohan, the rest of their 25 beers were Filipino, as well as Tetley’s, Boddington’s, Guinness, Bud and about seven obscure Chinese brews (Blue Girl, several Pearl River beers and the elusive Pineapple Beer). Enjoy! N.B. their a la carte serve yourself sushi is cheap, but sketchy (avoid the unagi!).

As Per said, this is a good place to go to get the 2 Macau beers - Macau Beer and Macau Blonde Ale - because it’s close to the ferry. But thats about it for this place!

This store is the food department of the New Yaohan Department Store. If you’re coming with the ferries from HongKong it’s conventiently located 2 minutes walk away from the terminal. It’s also the one store where I was able to locate Macau Blonde Ale. Apart from the Macau beers they also carry most of the imports available in Macau (which isn’t very exciting).
