Very convenient to the Paradise and BU arena if you are in-town for a show or game. Large bar and plenty of seating. Rather random placement of the waiter/ess station makes getting to the head a confusing adventure. Table service is usually fast, but you may have to wait a while at the bar to get the bartender’s attention. While not as extensive a selection as the Sunset Grille down the street, the Cantina still has 35+ taps and many bottles available. There is usually at least one rare beer on-tap at any given time. Food is standard pub fare - they steam their burgers if you are interested in trying something a little different.

Quite a cool place to try some beers, they definitely have an extensive list with some nice choices, there was more than enough to tide me over. Some nice decor on the walls, although more of a ’not-so-fancy’ restaurant vibe to it than a bar one. The service was acceptable, not very fast, but I just learned to order my beers in advance. You can buy a selection of four taster glasses (I think they were 8oz), which I liked as it meant I could try far more beers. Worth going to even though it is a bit out of the way.

When it’s not too crowded, this is a good choice to bring out-of-town visitors. The food is fairly priced and the portions are filling. Sometimes the service is slow, but no worse than other restaurants. Contrary to previous reviewers, I usually get the proper glassware.

Not much of a bar atmosphere. The decor on the walls is cool to look at. The food is ok, typical restaurant grub with wacky names.

Quick correction from the previous post - it’s across from Boston UNIVERSITY, not College. The tap and bottle selection is impressive, and the Mexican food is wonderful. However, the crowds are always very high, especially before and after BU hockey games on Fridays and Saturdays in the fall and winter. The waitstaff are friendly, but they pretty much know nothing about beer. I’ve had to teach 3 bartenders how to properly pour a hefeweizen, and another waitress asked me if I wanted a 23oz serving of Chimay White, 2.5x the recommended serving. They rarely if ever have the proper glassware, and that is both annoying and detracts from the experience. Overall it’s a good place but it seems to me that if a restaurant would take the trouble to have such a large beer selection they would go all the way to match glasses and train staff in beer.

Like a tiny little version of Sunset Grill, which is just as crouded, but without the impressive selection of beer - they had some stuff on tap worth drinking (brooklyn BCS, La Chouffe), but you’re not going to come into this place and get excited about anything - right across the street from Boston College, so it’s packed to the gills with kids that have just become old enough to drink, so I’m sure it’s awesome for them, but, as a beer person, I’d say avoid the place.

A chilled out version of the Grill, with a smaller selection of taps. A nice place, with good service and a pretty good selection. Food is good, but nothing too amazing.

Lots of taps here, rotated on a weekly basis. Always a surprise what you’ll see on the menu. Less taps than Sunset Grill, yes, but I never had a problem with Cantina’s beers not being fresh. They offer samplers of whatever you’d like on tap in sets of four. Again, the nachos are excellent for the money, and tasty, as are just about all the American - style foods here. Extensive burger selection. Extensive tequila selection. A solid representation of New England beers. A more relaxed place than Grill, and closer to main parts of Boston. MBTA Green Line B to St. Paul’s Street takes you to its doorstep. On a more quiet part of BU campus.
