| bitbucket (46), Kirkland, Washington | | September 20, 2007 Kappy’s is a big liquor store that has more bottles of wine and liquor than beer, but still has plenty of room left for the beer. Various European and domestic micros, along with all the domestic macros, wine coolers and other "malt beverages." Less than a third of it is refrigerated, but this store is vastly superior to anything else I found on the Cape. | | porterhouse (35), Alna, Maine | | October 24, 2006 This is basically a self-serve beer, wine and liquor supermarket. A pretty good selection of regional stuff including Smuttynose, Berkshire, Cisco, Newport Storm and some Allagash. Also had some Stone and Oskar Blues. On the other hand, no AleSmith, Avery’s or Moylan’s . Not a great selection of imports at all and probably won’t find many rarities. They deal mostly in 6-packs (and lots of them) so singles are pretty scarce - therefore not a fantastic store for RBers, at least compared to Julio’s. Still worth checking out though. | | CharlesDarwin (81), State College, Pennsylvania | | August 9, 2006 This place is pretty good actually. They have cases and cases of East Coast micros and craft brews along with a decent selection of large bottle imports. Not much single options. But go dig around in the walk in cooler, behind the rows of beer put out for the cooler doors. Any sixers that have broken are on the floor and you can mix a six of those. The two best finds here for me were Harpoon Kellerbier and Newport Storm ’02, neither of which did I end up buying (dammit). |
