| altonbrownd (54), Amsterdam, Netherlands | | June 20, 2008 I was pretty amazed by the selection of very good micros from all over the states but also top notch European beers from Belgium, Norway and Denmark. Obvious that the buyer knows and cares a lot about quality beer and supporting smaller breweries. | | TURDFERGUSON (37), Carrboro, North Carolina | | February 13, 2008 I think I bought beer at WF once or twice when I lived in Amherst and Hadley. It had a pretty good selection of locals, good craft brands, belgians, etc but couldn’t really compete with the larger liquor stores, at least for college students. And the service was always pretty poor overall. | | Sammy (211), Toronto, Ontario | | July 11, 2007 Another good beer selection at a Whole Foods. Lots of selection, though more pricey than the individual stores. Ryan and Casey, a must visit if you headed north, and Town and Counry if you are headed south. Reasonable import selection. And of course the food accompaniments to a health-conciousness person, like Me, are second-to-none. | | ericnixon (57), Lenox, Massachusetts | | June 14, 2005 Maybe it’s because I come from a beer-poor state like New Hampshire, but they had a surprisingly big beer selection here, in a whole foods store of all places. Lots of micros and regionals. If you can’t find Spirit Haus in Amherst, this is a good stop. | | fly (163), austin, Tejas, | | October 18, 2004 While this selection may not be far above that found elsewhere in the vicinity, I didn’t find any better. Good selection of Stone, some Weyerbacher, and MA & ME beers and more. Worth a visit if you’re coming from afar like me and decide to go to the Moan & Dove (not all too far). |
