Went with Stegosaurus on our Boston tour. This is the first place to ever serve A Sam Adams beer. They had a rare Sam Adams brew the Koggen. 25 taps with the likes of Koggen, Pickwick, Hoegaarden, Smuttynose, Harpoon, Anchor, Chimay, Boddington, magic hat, sam adams. The food selection excellent . The owner was very nice and informative. He gave us Doyles glasses and the rare Koggen glass. He told us other good places in the area to get a beer. I highly recomend this place

The bar is a great part of beer history for the city of Boston. The place is very historic looking, clean, and big. This is the first place to ever serve Sam Adams beers. They had proper glassware and rare brews. 25 taps with the likes of Koggen, Pickwick, Hoegaarden, Smuttynose, Harpoon, Anchor, Chimay, Boddington, magic hat, sam adams. The food was excellent we all had different burgers 4 in all they were very good. The owner was very nice as well as the bartender. They talked about the history and also about beer with us. This was a great place to visit while i was in Boston. When we walked in the owner was cleaning the lines of some of his taps (that is always a great sign). They even played a joke on the Mad Indian, and told him that the cleaning solution was a new Sam Adams brew, and he wanted to drink it, this place was great fun, i highly recomend this bar.

Long time Boston landmark, opened 1882. Has alot of Boston political history. Well worn interior. Nice long wood bar with alot of tables and booths also. Seperate dining area available. Big paintings on wall. Service was excellent at the bar this day. Woman behind the bar was able to tell me a little about the place and offered a sample of house beer Doyle’s Pickwick. On tap was Sam Adams Winter, Cherry Wheat, Boston ale. Harpoon Winter, Ipa. Red Hook Esb, Koggen, Bass, Boddington, Hoegaarden white, Magic Hat #9, SNPA, Smithwick’s, Smuttynose brown, Tremont, Harp, Stella Artois, Anchor steam, guiness, murphy’s. Plus Concord ’s Northwoods and Esb on cask. BMC was available in bottle. Other bottles included Chimay’s Sam Smith’s Looked like a menu that had something for everyone. Burgers & fries, Entrees. Big St Patrick ’s day place. Worth a visit if you’re visting Boston. It’s only 3 blocks from Sam Adams’s JP brewery, so you can make it a nice little pairing. Near orange line’s Green St stop.
