Glouglouburp | Medium sized pub on two floors with two bars. Judging by the crowd this is obviously the “cool” hang-out place in town as far as good beer selection is concerned. About 60 taps. Yes, yes 60 taps in Ann Arbor, that’s 6 x 10 taps. Of those 60 about 50 are regular taps (permanent on the beer menu) and 10 are rotating taps displayed on a board. The regular taps has about 25% of crappy macro and imported imported macro beers, 50% of standard American micros (Dogfish, etc.) and 25% of less common stuff. The 10 rotating taps were interesting. Up to three casks (but only two were plugged when I was there). Food menu is standard pub greasy food.

| flatmatt | It’s always great to get a chance to go to Ashley’s. Most important is the great selection. Not just the wide selection, but the quality of the selection is amazing. Some of the top beers in each category. Additionally, their menu is quite helpful, especially for new beer drinkers who can read style descriptions and use their flavor intensity ratings to figure out their orders. The waitstaff seems generally knowledgeable about the beers, though there has been a bit of confusion when asked about the rotating taps. Can get kind of crowded at times, but I’ve always been able to get a table quickly by arriving early enough. Food is quite good for what it is, which is standard bar food. I really enjoyed their BBQ chicken pizza. My favorite place to be in Ann Arbor.

JasonG | A multi-tap college bar and restaurant. Wood flooring and big overhead beams lend a warm, homely feel to the place. When you sit down you are handed an awesome booklet that discusses beer terminology, styles, and then lists all of their standing drafts by style, and it is a pretty extensive list comprised mostly of quality stuff. They have blackboards that list their rotating taps as well, which are definitely interesting. The flood is fairly standard pub food. I had the burger, which was actually pretty good. Service was lackluster. My waitress at least knew the styles of their rotating taps, but she more or less threw by beer at me, spilling some in the process, and was no where to be found when I needed my check. Still, well worth a visit if you’re in Ann Arbor.

| hankvision | The rotating taps will usually have you covered, but the impressive beer selection is the best in Ann Arbor. Waitresses are knowledgeable and can get you samples of any beer on tap for free. Appetizers are alright, entrees are good. This is my favorite bar in Ann Arbor.

| hawkinmi | The only drawbacks to Ashley’s is the sometimes present odor of overserved individuals, if you catch my drift. The selections is second to none, but what do you select from over 60 beers on tap and 80+ single malt scotches. The service can be slow when the joint is happening.

acrdz | A classic beer bar with a nice atmosphere, jovial (but young) crowd, and genuinely friendly staff. Selection is outstanding but being a complete geek I struggled to find something I haven’t had. I went with a Shorts Pale ale and then a 4th Dementia. Seems the taps rotate very quickly. One bummer is the cigarette smoke, which gave me nic-fits the next morning.

| bitterruss | One of my favorite places to drink. Sadly didn’t discover this place until the 2nd year of 2 living in AA. Beer selection is outstanding, food is good - typical from the fryer fare.
Great location.
You won’t be disappointed if you stop by.

| princessbecky | i found out abut ratebeer.com from bartender mike and his bro ben tonight while in ann arbor. tonight ashley’s proved to be an establishment that can make the leap from undergrad stomping ground to real life. great selection, incredibly informed bartender (hello, here i am and i’m running to ale smith when i return to san diego) who let me have lots of tastes.
i drank and /or sampled: bell’s amber ale, arbor brewing co.s espresso love it, stone’s pale ale, stone’s arrogant bastard, stone’s pale ale, grand rapids (?) dirty bastard, and something with a light up pull--i want to say mautide (it was from either quebec or vancouver--canada just all feels the same after 3 pints)
super friendly and knowledgeable. and i hear a rumor about a soon-to-be boulder establishment?

Ibrew2or3 | Well, the heavy smoking going on in here really dampened the experience. Old worn-in looking place in a part of town where parking is tough to get and what is there seems to be all metered (at least that’s how it looks to an outsider like me). Worn in wood bar with brick walls and nice stained glass divider separating the front half from the back half. Nifty little bar, seating and foosball downstairs. Pretty small place but in no way is the draft selection small. They have the standard Michigan players like Bells, Founder’s, Arcadia, Darkhorse, Kuhnhenn and Dragonmead. They had Rogue Imperial Stout on Cask, YUMM. They have three cask selections and six nitro taps to go along with a couple dozen others. I love the 3L bottle of Stone’s 10th above the bar. Looks like they might be dusting it daily. It was straight out of the package clean. If you don’t mind choking on smoke while you enjoy their tasty selection then this place is well worth the effort of seeking out. I won’t be going back until MI changes the laws to "no smoking" in restaurants.

Tmoney99 | Easy to find location directly on State across from U of M. Street parking. Building is clean and orderly and lots of character. Bar on right and seating for food on left. Bar has large selection of taps of good local and national micros. Staff is freindly with good beer knowledge. Menu is apps, soups and sandwiches. I had the soup, very good. Good location, beer selection and food. Well worth the stop.
