| fly (163), austin, Tejas, | | September 2, 2008 Maybe I was just done with beer shopping by the time I got here, but seemed the selection was no where near as good as other WF places I’ve been. Not that I wouldn’t check it out again, given the chance. | flatmatt (8), Northville, Michigan does not count - explanation | | August 6, 2008 [ Updated October 12, 2008 ] Well, as a couple users have said, it’s a Whole Foods. Selection is better than my local stores by brands, but after a few visits, I wonder about the freshness of some of their non-refrigerated selections. I noticed after opening an Achel Bruin after a recent visit that it was marked as having expired two years ago. The beer was great, but it could have easily been something that doesn’t age well. Beyond that, the prices are decent compared to the specialty beer stores in Ann Arbor, and it’s nice that they have a small selection of beer glassware as well. They’ve also upped their selection of single 12 oz bottles recently. The staff isn’t trained not to put beer on its side or anything, but I wouldn’t really expect them to be. | | CharlesDarwin (100), State College, Pennsylvania | | May 15, 2008 I was surprised to see some good prices on some things here, but generally the selection is a little more limited and there’s nobody there to help you out. Plus, no sixer breaking. Gets the job done if you can’t make it to Bello Vino, Beer Depot or Main Street. | | redlem (58), Illinois | | March 24, 2007 [ Updated March 31, 2007 ] It is a grocery store. A decent selection of beer, I got excited at the time for the Avery Czar I got their. Easy to get to and just about inbetween EMU and UM. | | bgburdman9 (22), Columbus, Ohio | | January 11, 2007 This was a pretty descent whole foods. Similar to the one in columbus. Had some good local stuff and some other micros and regional. | | sliffy (86), Columbus, Ohio | | December 20, 2006 Typical Whole Foods selection, just that this was the michigan version of what I’m used to. Wasn’t planning on stopping here, but I found it on the way to a gas station. | | Tmoney99 (220), Cincinnati, Ohio | | July 26, 2006 Stopped here before MBGF. Easy to find location with large parking lot. Service is freindly grocery store staff. Selection is limited to some regional beers and a few select Whole Food production brews. Good grocery store food and self serve salad and food bars. Clean place for take-out food and a few brews. | | jeffc666 (84), Fairfax, Virginia | | February 15, 2005 One of the biggest Whole Foods I have ever been in, though the beer selection was a bit of a letdown. Better than a typical grocery store but nowhere near as good as Bello Vino or some of the party stores around town. | | AustinMilbarge (49), Phoenix, Arizona | | October 29, 2004 It’s a Whole Foods, a pretty big one, too. The beer isn’t anything particularly special, but better than your average grocery store. There are certainly better beer stores in AA to go to. However, this is the best grocery store to go to if you are hungry, because they have so many samples, you won’t put everything that looks good in your buggy. |
