I fell in love with this place immediately. It is in a super crappy part of Detroit, by the old Tiger’s Stadium. We did have to wait a bit, but who cares, this place is awesome. Farily small inside. Great ambiance, had a Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere while I waited. Great tap selectin overall. Then we ate. The food here is amazing. Barbeque was awesome and the sides were delicious. This place is a must see if you can get in. I know I will be back.

Holy god! The two things I love most, in one building! Barbecue and great beer! Excellent service. A little cramped of a space, but you expect that for a Friday night. Must-see for Detroit.

Probably the best bottle selection in the city. Always something good on tap as well. I really miss this place. The food is excellent. I’d go home stuffed every time. A must for anybody visiting Detroit. It is across from the Michigan Train Station.

I agree with others who have written. Well worth the drive from the airport. After spending the day talking my flight crew into going with me, I was hoping I wouldn’t be put to shame. We were all impressed not only with the great food, but the beer selection as well. Liz, our server, knew what she was talking about and did a great job. The beer menu is even broken up into categories with a little description of each one which is helpful in determining which one you want. They also had four Bell’s brews on tap which is always a plus! My only compaint is that I wish they had more on tap along with the great selection of bottles.

Like other comments the food is worth going for alone. The great appreciation for beer and recognition of so many styles is something they should be commended for. They regularly hold beer tasting events, I attended the Bell’s tasting where they brought in the lead production manager from Bell’s. High quality, reasonably priced food with an imppecable beer list makes this a must for any Detroiter or vistor.

The food is definitely worth going for alone, affordable too. The beer list made it even better. Solid selection of taps and bottles. My new favorite stop downtown.

Thank you ratebeer for pointing out this great place. I was going to downtown for a concert and was looking for a place to eat. Great food and great beer. The selection is outstanding, they had beers you can’t buy at stores in Michigan which is a big bonus. Two rotating Bells taps for seasonals is also a nice touch. Not the greatest part of town which made my wife a bit skeptical, but it is very nice on the inside and she said she loved it. Must go if you are anywhere near downtown.

What a great place! The food is great and nothing will break your wallet. I had the pulled pork and it was the best I’ve had north of the Mason-Dixon. The beer selection is awesome with some very eclectic beers on draught and in bottle. If I remember correctly, most pints are $4, which is a great deal. It’s absolutely worthwhile.

Not in the best neighborhood, but very well worth it. Usually quite busy at dinner time. Plan for about an hour wait. Incredible beer selection makesthe wait quite easy. 8 taps mostly consiting of beers you might not mormallty see on tap. Excellent selection of bottles with quite a lot of Belgians. The food is just amazing. They slow cook all the meat in a brick, charcoal fired oven. All classic BBQ entrees, pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket. The sides are just as good! Definately one of my favorite restaurants in Detroit.

I came at opening time on a Saturday and it became really busy after about 10 minutes. Seemed like most of the people were there for the food though, which happened to be unbelievable. I got the hamburger ($7), which may have been one of the best I’ve ever had. I also tried the ribs that one member of my party ordered, which were also very good. The six sauces on the table are a nice touch too. Beer list is strong with I would guess a few more than 20. most of the pints were $4 and bottles of JP were going for $12. The service was also friendly and attentive. The area, near the old stadium, is pretty desolate though so I wouldn’t expect much else to do in the area.
