RateBeer Brew Tour Guide's Comments
Great beer selection, one of the top 3 in town but really separating themselves from the field with there selection of Vintage local beers. Don’t be surprised to find random imperial stouts and barley wines Bells produced in the mid 90s to randomly appear on the shelves. Rare beers have a tendency to pop up at this store but not make an appearance at any of the other stores in town. Homebrew supplies as well.

polomagnifico (4), Saginaw, does not count - explanation | | December 3, 2008 [ Updated December 7, 2008 ] Great vintage brews and other hard to find beers. Great staff, friendly and knowledgable. | | mmmbeer (22), Austin, Texas | | July 17, 2008 (Visited 7-5-08) This place got me into a whole lot of trouble- read on... a small liquor store stocked to the gills with product. The beer isle is very tight, product on the floor (4 cases of Hopslam left on the floor, wow), product on the shelves, product in the cooler, product everywhere- with MANY older and hard to find items. I helped them with the product problem by purchasing some random 6’ers and creating 6’ers from the empty packs on the floor- nearly 2 cases in total. One of the rare instances where I had to force myself to stop picking up bottles, pay for my stuff, and run away before I blew all the money at one place. Would be a regular visitor if I lived within 50 miles of the place- and will visit again when I’m in that neck of the woods!!! | | timsilvia32 (25), from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina | | July 13, 2008 [ Updated January 4, 2009 ] Good selection of local micros and some imports. Reasonable enough prices. Nice relaxed cozy place. Basically if you’re on 28th street, you need to stop here. | | GeneralGao (208), Iowa City, Iowa | | February 11, 2008 Small place not too far off the interstate. The overall selection was pretty good. They had a decent number of Michigan micros, but the only one I found of any interest was a Short’s The Curl Imperial Pilsner. I was also able to round out my Southern Tier collection, as hey had all of their bottled imperial offerings. | | Hudspart (20), Hudsonville, Michigan | | December 29, 2007 Decent selection. Very good for sale of singles as most beers are sold individually. Very friendly and helpful staff. | lampeno420 (7), Zeeland, Michigan does not count - explanation | | September 9, 2007 Screwed up and rated it on BillVanE’s name.
Nice little place in town. A must stop place if your in G.R., just because of the chance of some old Bells. A friend picked up a 6 pack of Expedition 2 and a half years old. Good selection of locals and Trappist singles. Helpful and knowledgeable cashier. Can’t break 6-packs, which is why i like sicilanos more. | BillVanE (3), Zeeland, Michigan does not count - explanation | | September 9, 2007 Nice little place in town. I’ve been to places with more selection, but they do well with the space they have and they do carry a lot of quality. Bell’s Susies Sweet Stout, Founder’s Kentucky Breakfast and Warbird was on the rack when I was in, all good finds. Staff spent a lot of time with me showing me what is available and offering up his experiences with any that he’d consumed. Good stop. | Jwasciuk (9), Lowell, Michigan does not count - explanation | | January 26, 2007 [ Updated July 28, 2008 ] Good selection, it looks like some of the belgians have been on the shelf for awhile. Some brewing supplies but not everything you need. Kinda pricy and the staff sometimes seem irritated when I have questions, but seem friendly to the regulars. | | milewide (11), Grand Rapids, Michigan | | September 2, 2006 Cramped, but a lot of brews. Friendly counter person. Prices a bit high. I can’t read most of the product codes, but inventory looks like new releases, and some old stuff. | View Page : 1 2
