Kirsch (1), East Lansing, Michigan does not count - explanation | | May 20, 2008 Great beer store. Has the ambiance of a beer store. Can’t expect more than that. Service has always been great. Ask questions about the products and you will get great answers whether it be beer or other types of alcohol. They also have a vast selection of beer (somewhere around 600) with basically every beer brewed in Michigan. | | Hudspart (20), Hudsonville, Michigan | | September 2, 2007 Great selection of beers and singles. As to ambiance and service, it is a beer store - what you expect. However, for good hard to find singles and a great selection, a good place to go. | | donrajin (47), Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina | | August 28, 2007 Like stated before, it looks like a hole in the wall from outside, but pretty interesting inside. They had a decent selection of all singles and all in a cooler. You could get some hot versions if you liked. A lot of Michigan beers. One very rare find. Wild Dog Gonzo Imperial Porter in stamped oak box with pin and glass ($43). Man I love this beer, but I can’t stand that price. Oh, they had two left by the way. | HarryHood (1), Lansing, Michigan does not count - explanation | | July 13, 2007 Holy selection, batman! A hole in the wall with the best selection in Lansing. They claim 600 micros/imports. I don’t know if thats right but WOW. If you don’t see it, ask cuz they have it somewhere. Every micro I can imagine, sometimes I find things I didn’t know were available in bottles, not to mention they are all cold. Ask for service and you will be taken care of, but the staff won’t hound you. Definitely some underinformed employees, but a few serious beer geeks as well. Hands down best beer store in Lansing. | IanWalker (1), Lansing, Michigan does not count - explanation | | March 27, 2007 Easily the best place in the area. Just a small place, but an excellent selection. All kinds of local brews, great selection of craft brews. Also a great wine selection.
There are a few guys there who don’t know thier stuff, but several of them (and one in particular) are experts. If I have questions, or want recommendations, I always know who to ask. | | masonjer (14), Holt, Michigan | | March 23, 2007 I frequent this store all the time. The ambiance isn’t the greatest, but it’s not horrible either. Most of the staff are helpful, some are very good. The selection is definitely the best in mid michigan, with over 600 beers. Also, they sell everything in singles. They have a lot of micros and a few belgians. If your in lansing, make the stop. | | Silphium (50), Lansing, Michigan | | December 17, 2006 I frequent this store and am surprised I haven’t yet rated it. Oades is the best beer store the greater Lansing area has to offer. However, there are better stores in Michigan’s other large cities (Grand Rapids, Flint, Ann Arbor, and Detroit), so Oades is pretty much a local destination. Selection is good, and they typically get several of the seasonal beers and special releases other stores in the area don’t receive. Stone, Victory, Dogfish Head, etc. share shelf space with an abundance of Michigan micros. The Belgian and foreign selection is relatively limited, however. Quite a few of the staff really enjoy good beer and are always up to date on what’s coming in and when. If you’re in the mid-Michigan area, Oades is the place to shop. | | argo0 (173), Washington DC | | June 15, 2006 Fantastic selection, especially for us out-of-towners unable to get Michigan beers where we live. Not sure I’ll ever get back to Lansing, but if I do this is a must-stop. | jjdabeerman (1), does not count - explanation | | May 22, 2006 Great selection, some of the staffers are very knowledgable, the best place in mid Michigan | | ryan (12), Beltsville, Maryland | | May 13, 2006 Easily the best selection in Lansing/East Lansing. Prices are a bit high, but you will find the beers that don’t make it to Goodrich’s here. Everything available in singles and kept cold. Discount on mix and match sixers. They usually get the hard to find Dark Horse brews like One, Too, Tres, Fore, Double Crooked, etc. Full line of Bells, Founders, Arcadia, New Holland, Jolly Pumpkin, Michigan Brewing Co. Last time I was there they had some Victory, Great Divide, plus the usual. Service can be hit or miss, some of the employees are beer geeks, some know absolutely nothing. | View Page : 1 2
