| nflmvp | I don’t know why I can’t get on board with all the others who reviewed this place before me but it’s pretty apparent that my experience was completely different from those who came before me.
Driving up to the place, you realize that this is a double wide trailer. No big deal because they can do some great stuff with double wides.
Walk inside and the first thing you notice, as mentioned in other reviews, is the mugs. However, the very NEXT thing you notice (at least I did) is the 1/2 inch growth of fur on top of all the unused mugs. This ’dust carpet’ was everywhere, including the leading edges of all the ceiling fan blades. I constantly felt as if I had to keep my beer covered, for fear this stuff was gonna fall right off and land in my beer. It sounds paranoid but I’ve seen it happen at a restaurant and it’s totally disgusting. Perhaps this is why I was so conscious of it but it was disgusting none the less.
The biggest disappointment to me was that there was nothing special on tap during our visit. All the beers were their regular releases, not even a one, too, tres, plead the 5th, double crooked tree, etc. Nada.
The bartender took care of us the way she seemed to be taking care of everyone and the crooked tree was tasty but overall, unless I hear that the place has changed, I don’t think I’ll be stopping in again on my next DLD weekend beer tour.
I suppose under different circumstances I might be able to give better scores but there just wasn’t anything there to excite me even a little bit, and the extra joy of seeing how dirty the place was really put on the finishing touches.
It’s really too bad too, because I dig a lot of the Dark Horse brews. I guess bottles is the way to go from here on out.

AmEricanbrew | A smallish pub, the decor looks like an unfinished lodge no slick wood, shiny brass or pretense here. Liked the doors they use for table tops. No stouts or dark beers on tap, so only tried the ipa. The attached bottle shop had some of their stouts in stock. Across the parking lot is a gift shop/homebrew supply store, along with a tatoo shop. One stop shopping here, get drunk, get a tatoo, then get some Dark Horse to go, pretty cool.

Rogueone | If you are anywhere near this place, definitely make a point to stop in. The place looks like a shed from the outside, and a flea market on the inside, with hand-crafted mugs hanging from the ceiling. The pizza here is awesome, with the kitchen so close to the bar you can yell your order from your seat. Great, friendly crowd here you’ll end up talking about beer with somebody you don’t know. Lots of wisdom to be learned from the bathroom stalls. Unique and delicious beers, but they run out of them fast. At least one of the tap handles is a glass dildo.

sliffy | Stopped in on a Saturday night. The place was pretty busy, standing room only at that point. Waited around for a while for a table to open up. Got to sit at the door in the corner. I love the mug club with the steins hanging all over the place, a very cozy feel to it. Service was very good, then knew the details on the beers they were pouring. The selection was almost entirely from their bottled stuff at the time. Probably bad timing on my part, but 3 Guy’s was pouring and it was delicious. The food was very good, great pizza, didn’t try anything else. I rank their pizza right behind Piece and FFF. I had a blast, good conversation with some of the locals sharing our table. I’ll definitely be stopping by again the next time I’m going through there.

| HailSquishface | Odd building but what you’d expect from Dark Horse. 6-8 taps usually at least one or two not available in bottle. The pizza is good. Michelle from what I gather is the only bartender they have but she is both friendly and knowledgeable.

mdm46410 | A nice little cozy place to enjoy some good beer and food. They only had 5 beers on tap, but the selection was still decent enough. The food was standard pub fair, but very fairly priced and pretty good as well. The atmosphere and decour was very laid back. There must have been 1,000 beer mugs hanging from the walls and ceiling. Definately worth a stop if you are in the area.

MikeF | From afar seems quit like a small shack that would one would see on an x-files episode in which a computer was autonomously controlling the world. Inside, you have mugs hung everywhere, literally. Friendly servers. small rustic ambiance. Dark horse brews on draft only about 4 or 5 I recall. a nice stop if you are doing the Michigan circuit. A little out of the way.

Brigadier | This is what your prototypical local bar would be if it were also a top notch brewery. The walls are covered in mugs to the point where I don’t know if they have room for anything else. The walls are covered in bumpered stickers and other random stuff. It’s low key and proud of it.
The selection was limited with only five beers on tap at the time - amber, raspberry, Whiskey Richard and two others. I don’t know if that is always the case but it covered a nice range of styles. Service was nice and my beer came in a tulip instead of a shaker.
Be sure to stop by here if you are driving from Kalamazoo to Ann Arbor/Detroit. It’s worth the ten minute drive off I-90.

frankenkitty | One of the highlights of a two-week road trip. Great people on both sides of the bar... down-to-earth and super friendly. Brewer Trent even gave me a quick tour of the brewhouse (thanks, man). I thought the atmosphere was just terrific, but it probably wouldn’t appeal to the mainstream. It’s kinda like if Satan built a diner/beer garden. My wife and I both loved our visit and we’re looking forward to next time as long as we can find someplace close to stay the night. I hear there’s a B&B within walking distance...
