| OSLO (80), Perth, Australia | | July 12, 2009 Stopped by on a Tuesday for lunch, and was surprised to find that the place was empty. Service was good, as the staff were friendly, quick to refill water, and answer any questions that we had. The food was excellent, albeit a bit high priced. Given the quality of it and the location of the place though, it was about what I had expected. The beers on-tap were all Minnesota brewed, and the sake selection was good. The 3 sakes that I tried were all enjoyable. Definitely worth stopping at if you are in Minneapolis. | | maniac (90), Richmond, Virginia | | June 1, 2009 Visited on 05/31/2009. Just down the street from Herkimer, so worth a stop to hit both in a trip. Large stainless steel bar top. Brewery is visible behind glass at the end of the hall. I tried a sampler of their 3 premium sakes and had a glass of their one remaining common sake. All of the sake is on tap which may be common, but I’ve never been to any other sake bar. Certainly a nice stop just to have been to a sake bar.
| | beastiefan2k (108), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas | | January 12, 2009 Just stopped in here yesterday, will update in the future. Recently opened, may be hard to find since there is no large sign but look for the black building with a bush hanging over the door. Deceptively large interior inside, 3 floors actually, 2 for seating and one for bathrooms (which are very cool). Large bar with lots of beer taps. 4 flat screen TVs over the bar and one showing an Asian channel. Well decorated with a crazy hanging things. Food, well not a Japanese only place, more like Asian. Not a large menu, but mainly small dishes with some noodle dishes. I was not very impressed with my baby octopus, which was all rice vinegar. The Koran BBQ was ok, the dumplings were a bit overpriced for the portion and flavor. Service was average (I think the male waiter was a bit better since I was with 4 young ladies). Sake, 2 on tap, I was impressed with all of them. Supposedly they will make more and have 750s to go in the future. My recommendation, come here and sit at the bar and j | | JK (118), Richfield, Minnesota | | November 28, 2008 [ Updated September 30, 2009 ] Nice atmosphere. Upscale and very uptown, it reminds me a little of Chino Latino. A good place for a date. Service was very friendly and helpful. Great happy hour, $5 sake, and $3 for all taps including Surly, Lift Bridge, Summit, and more. The beef jerky appetizer was good, quite spicy. the Hen bun was good also, but a little expensive for how small it was. Roasted peanuts with house seasoning are served with beer/sake purchase. I will be back for sure, for the great beer happy hour even if I don’t feel like sake. Possibly the best patio in the Twin Cities, on top of the building. | | badgerben (79), Blaine, Minnesota | | October 28, 2008 A nice place. Definitely contemporary style. About 4 TVs that have a variety of sports on. The food is small, appetizer size, with a couple of large meal-ish plates. For the neighborhood, it is well priced. I had two pork skewers in a soy sauce marinade for $4. Very attentive staff. It looks like they have room for four of their sakes on tap eventually and a decent selection of local beers. | | BDR (54), Roseville, Minnesota | | October 28, 2008 Trendy Japanese restaurant with decent food. The beer was local and they had three sake’s available with more on the way. |
