November 21, 2008 More of a restaurant than a bar, but for a limited 20 taps, this place is always a winner. The location is excellent. Located in the St. Anthony Main district of Southeast Minneapolis. A most excellent patio out front in the summer provides a beautiful view of the Mississippi waterfront and downtown Minneapolis. Food is very good, if a tad overpriced. On a recent visit, I counted 20 taps with only two macros: Lite and Stella. Other offerings included Surly Darkness, Two Brother Cane & Ebel, Duchesse, Furthermore Oscura and plenty others. Taps rotate on an ever changing basis. Proper glassware abounds and the bartending service is very willing to talk about beer. The weekday late night happy hour can’t be beat: $3 pints of non-specialty domestics... which includes such beers as Hopslam! Prices are right on par with the rest of the city. Overall, a quiet inside on a cold winter night and a lively patio on a warm summer evening. A diamond in the rough in the ever expanding metro craft beer scene. |
