3/17/2008 4:37:03 PM, monday, march 17, 2008 Typical Rock Bottom atmosphere. Big open restaurant with the brewing equipment stacked behind glass opposite the bar. Clean and well kept. There were some nice looking pool tables in the back. I visited at lunch time on a weekday and it was surprisingly busy. They had four seasonals on tap and a half dozen or so other beers that are always on tap. The food was good and the menu was almost identical to other Rock Bottoms.
1/26/2008 2:05:21 AM, saturday, january 26, 2008 [ Updated saturday, january 26, 2008 ] Food was pretty good. The selection was limited to their own brews and a few other standard crap beers. Service was mediocre as the place tends to be for hipsters doofuses. It’s a good place to duck into for a predictable meal and experience.
10/22/2007 4:47:45 PM, monday, october 22, 2007 The food was the best part of this experience. The beers in the sampler were what you would expect but nothing stood out as great. The atmosphere was laid back but our server seemed to forget about us or she didn’t really care. I had their beer again at the ABR and was again not overly impressed with any of it.
8/1/2007 12:26:48 PM, wednesday, august 01, 2007 A decent place we pretty much had it and our server to ourselves (8 of us). The sampler was good with most of the beers styles you would expect coming to the front. Our server was a really good guy that spent some time with us joking around and talking beer a bit. The food was good as well with generous portions. The place was lit to the minimum for mid day. I liked it pretty well. It is probably a different animal on Friday nights.
7/16/2007 12:29:17 PM, monday, july 16, 2007 One of the better Rock Bottoms I’ve visited. The downtown location is handy as most of the decent beer venues are outside the centre. 7 of the 8 beers on tap were Minneapolis exclusives rather than Rock Bottom "corporates" and a couple - Itasca Pale Ale & Coconut Stout - were pretty good. Foodwise, its decent but fairly standard brewpub fare. Service was fine. Not the easiest place to find if going by the street address as the main frontage is on Hennepin - you can get there from LaSalle but have to go via a passage through what outwardly looks like an office building.
6/28/2007 4:57:44 PM, thursday, june 28, 2007 Pre-RBSG 2007 Grand Tasting dinner stop. Good food and service, but the beers are pretty blah. Nice downtown location, and a pretty large place.
6/27/2007 5:54:57 PM, wednesday, june 27, 2007 Lunch Pre surly tour at RBSG. We were the only ones there (20 of us). Great food, decent prices and Jimmy rocks. Chairs were uncomfortable though. Ask for a free Sundae in the pint glass for your DD!!
6/27/2007 3:26:42 PM, wednesday, june 27, 2007 Standard rock bottom location with good tap selection. Average service but the food was lackluster during my last visit.
6/26/2007 4:12:06 PM, tuesday, june 26, 2007 Pre-RBSG 2007 Dinner. Fairly large restaurant. We packed a large enough RB crew in. Picked up a sampler of beer and dinner. A couple of good brews on the sampler, and dinner was quite tasty. Very convenient downtown location.
6/26/2007 1:54:00 PM, tuesday, june 26, 2007 Pretty big place that was empty on a Saturday for lunch. Decent line up of beers the coconut stout was pretty interesting. Food was pretty solid, pizza was good, the cheese dip like thing I was snacking on was also tasty. Service was very good, though the refusal to separate checks seemed a little odd.
