tdaglow (5), Minnesota does not count - explanation | | October 23, 2008 Amazing food, good service(sometimes), and a beer list that makes me cry. Plus a fire pit in the back. Go, eat, drink, and don’t worry about the bill. Don’t be put off if the service isn’t great and try at least one cheese plate. | | mnoutdoors (10), Allover, Wisconsin | | October 8, 2008 Very nice looking palce...awesome selection of good beer..Southern tier pumking was outstanding.food is a little pricey but worth it. Will definitely be back. | | kmweaver (93), , Nicaragua | | September 21, 2008 We happened to stop by during a festival weekend (beer, then whiskey etc.), so there was a tent outside in addition to the indoor bar, seating, and the pleasant patio outside. Lots of Surly, Summit, and other local beers on tap (SurlyFest, Bender, Furious, etc.) and a good, if eclectic, selection of bottles. Got to try Tyranena Scurvy and SurlyFest. Went there for brunch, and the omelette and homefries were excellent. Decent service, lots of available seating for brunch, and it seems like this is one of the must-visit spots in St. Paul. | stankenk (4), Maplewood, Minnesota does not count - explanation | | September 21, 2008 The Happy Gnome is a great place to have good food and enjoy some of the finest brews on tap and in the bottle. I plan to go back soon . | thejoeshow (7), Saint Paul, Minnesota does not count - explanation | | May 25, 2008 This place is a beer lovers heaven! If you live in or plan to visit the Twin Cities, this place has to be on your agenda. They have the best beer selection around. Hands down. You can find everything from a Bourbon Barrel aged Coffee Oatmeal Imperial Porter on tap to the very beat in local fare pulled right from a firkin. The beer board is always changing, so visit often. And the staff is always pleasant plus very knowledgeable! They know their stuff. I also love the beer dinners. They are a steal @ $65 a plate, even if that seems a little spendy...well worth it! Two thumbs up! | mattmc1973 (7), Sterling Heights, Michigan does not count - explanation | | May 6, 2008 Draught selection was incredible, and I had one of the best burgers I’ve ever had there! | | grimreeser (14), Minnesota | | February 21, 2008 Heh, can’t believe I haven’t rated this place yet. Been here about a half dozen times. Nice looking place. Service is hit or miss, the bartenders don’t seem overly attentive. Great tap selection, but they seem to have probs with dirty tap lines. Might want to ask for a sample first before you order. Food is decent, but rather expensive, not worth the money. Trendy place, but there are better options in the Cities. | | KAF (61), Saint Paul, Minnesota | | January 20, 2008 Went here for a friends birthday party with the full intention of drinking some great beer. The menu however was one of, if not the, most overpriced beer menus I have ever seen. Even local beer was over priced. There were beers on the menu that I could have gone down the street to a liquor store and gotten it for $4.00 less (charged $5 for Viking)! The food was also very pricey and the portions you get are not worth the price you pay. $11.00 for a plain cheese burger! Maybe I’m cheap but that is a little ridiculous. The beer selection however is very nice and the atmosphere appeared to be laid back. The service was average. Again good selection of beer but very pricey. If you’re in the area go down the street to the Muddy Pig where they have more beer at better prices. | | tytoanderso (27), St. Louis Park, Minnesota | | September 14, 2007 [ Updated September 15, 2007 ] Went here on a Thursday afternoon, so my friend and I had the patio pretty much to ourselves... but what a patio! Excellent ambiance. I imagine that this place gets packed on summer evenings, but very a nice place to spend a chill (and chilly) afternoon. Probably one of the best tap and bottle selections in a bar in the Twin Cities. Didn’t have any food, but the service was above average. Definitely recommended. | | Immy (74), Virginia Beach, Virginia | | June 28, 2007 RBSG pub crawl. This is what a beer bar is all about! Quite crowded (nice eye candy) and for good reason - amazing tap selection, two Surly beers on cask and fair prices. Didn’t try the food. Another must-see in Minny-St. Paul! | View Page : 1 2 3
