November 27, 2007 [ Updated March 22, 2008 ] **Update (March 2008)** Don’t know what is going on here, but the selection was really weak this past week when I stopped in. They were down to about half of their regular offering.
Strip mall joint between St. Louis and the in-laws’ place that has enough to last a week, but nothing that is super interesting. They have most of the Schalflys’ brews, a selection of Bells, New Belgium, Unibroue, Boulevard, etc. but nothing that would merit an out of the way quest. Service is hit-or-miss. If you get the owner, Wade, he is nice enough and fairly helpful, but more knowledgeable with wine than beer. If you get the guys that were in there the other day, bawdy talk will abound and help will be hard to come by unless you seek it out, and if you don’t look like some floozy with too much money and not much sense, you will get short answers. I’ve been there a few times and there is now a little cafe attached, but I haven’t eaten there yet. If you’re in the neighborhood, it’s worth the stop. |
