| brewhobo22 | Too dark. Showing signs of maturity. The food doesn’t live up to expectations. The Capital and Scotch Ale are consistently good as are the speciality beers. Service can improve dramatically. The bar staff seems well educated about the beer selections, but the wait staff needs improvement. Not enough consistency between the two locations.

eboats | Nice location out in west Omaha. Very nice inside. Merely huge for a bar with above average beers. The normal tap beers are very mediocre at best, but some of their special releases are above average. They have maybe 2 what I would consider decent beers in their normal lineup. Not a place to go for beer, but better than most BMC serving bars around here with better than avg food.

Braudog | Just realized I hadn’t rated this place. If given the choice, go to the Old Market Upstream. This one is more of a yuppie neighborhood restaurant and I think they might brew one beer at a time on premises. The rest come from downtown (and is the same lineup, with the exception of the seasonal). The service is super friendly, I’ve found mostly more so in the afternoon at the bar when it’s not packed with clueless yuppies ordering Bud Light. Anyway, worth visiting if you find yourself squandering time in the suburban sprawls of West O. Otherwise, go downtown.

bu11zeye | Large somewhat upscale brewpub in west Omaha with average beers on tap and mediocre bottled oak-aged Belgians ($19 for 750ml). Nice place to hang out with friends.

jefcon | This is a good place to drink beer. The offerings are fresh, there is always a seasonal on tap, and brews are available in tasters, 12 oz., and 16 oz. servings. Growlers (refillable) can also be had for take-home purposes. The service is friendly and as knowledgable as you could hope for, and the building is spacious and new. A brewpup which is clearly trying hard and having great success among the locals.

arjoseph | Upscale atmosphere with laid-back clientelle, the Legacy Upstream is a two-story behemoth of a brewpub. The bottom floor is a popular restaurant that serves quality American food at reasonable prices. The upstairs is half restaurant, half bar, complete with 5 pool tables rentable for about $3-6/hr (depending on time and day) and ample flat-screen TVs. Service is prompt and constant, and the staff knows a thing or two about the beer (although not three; there’s not a profusion of flat-out beer geeks here, but the staff is trained generally and knows more than your average waitress about the product). Happy hour pints are only $1.50, and there’s always a limited run seasonal on tap (in addition to the usuall styles including a stout, a rasp ale, a golden, a red ale, an ESB, an IIPA, and an English pale). This place makes it easy to support the local scene.
