| Fin (78), Merton, England | | June 22, 2009 Great bar really centrally located in Amsterdam. The barman was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about what he was selling. Good, solid range of beers with an interesting selection on tap. I only got to visit about four-five bars when in Amsterdam but this and the ’T Arendsnest I can’t imagine would be bettered very easily. I would have loved to have come here again over the course of the weekend but it was closed for the next two days as the landlord/barman was off to Nottingham to their twin pub (Castle Rock place, forgot name) I had DE Molen Heen & Weer, Jopen Hoppenbier and De Hemmel Ervaring whilst here.
| | gerome (11), , France | | June 9, 2009 pretty good beer, eating normal, the local pretty | | MaxxDaddy (15), Hoboken, New Jersey | | June 4, 2009 Nice little bar in Amsterdam with a good selection of taps from Belgium, Holland and Germany primarily. Good bottle list as well. Has an older feel to it with all wood interior. The bartender was very knowledgeable and friendly. Value is great for tap beers, and decent for bottles. Very cool, relaxed atmosphere inside. Definitely a must-visit. | | goozen (14), Leiden, Netherlands | | May 16, 2009 Old bar with an good selection of Belgian, German and other countries beers. | | NoiZe (47), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands | | January 15, 2009 Nice selection, nice service. Good! | | forst (15), , Italy | | January 13, 2009 Extremely competent staff, awesome selection of taps, everything you could ask from a beer lover paradise.
Almost no food, though, just a couple of appetizers and some cheese. | | Borresteijn (28), Amstelveen, Netherlands | | August 30, 2008 Beercafé in the heart of Amsterdam, so always very crowded with (beer)tourists. Nice old bar, tiles and woody interior. Good selection of tap beers and a great selection of bottles, although I think the bottles are a bit overpriced. There’s no music, so it can be very quiet in here. Nevertheless one of the best beer bars in Amsterdam. | | DSG (41), Tel Aviv, Israel | | August 19, 2008 The best beer bar in Amsterdam even if only for the fact it has a non-smoking room. Beer list is great and contains a lot of Belgian and German (mostly Bavarian) beers as well as some British and American micros and some other stuff. The tap list is also very diverse. I was here during a Belgium-Amsterdam beer trip in March. I was planning to go for a trip in Bavaria and be there on time to have the Schlenkerla Fastbier on tap in Bamberg but decied to go to Belgium instead. So, I was extremely delighted to see the Fastbier was on De Wildeman tap list! Other than this one I hed Urthel Hop-It and St. Georgen Kellerbier. A great place! | | bhensonb (272), Woodland, California | | June 3, 2008 Very nice place. Good selection of beers, though perhaps not so many Dutch beers as ‘t Arendsnest. Stuck with bottles, so can’t speak to the condition of the drafts. Has a very old woody atmosphere - great stack of old kegs on the back wall. Prices seemed very reasonable.
| | MIBRomeo (104), Wisconsin | | May 17, 2008 I felt this place was a disapointment. Higher prices than the other places in the area. Service was poor unless on the smoking side. The beer selection is fairly wide but lacks the quality I normally see w/ 200+ beers. Many of the taps tasted like crappy micro american laggers w/ a belgian twist. I’ll skip this place next time I’m in town. | View Page : 1 2 3 4 5 6
