Visited on Thursday 25/09/14 around 930pm. Smallish wood panelled bar with an air of Victoriana about it. The place was doing a good trade but we find a table easy enough. 18 beers on tap, largely from Dutch micros with a few random US offerings thrown in - we picked up a new CDA here, whats not to like!! Bottle list was a little pedestrian, 100 ish offerings but largely safe bets, not filled with the newer breweries.
Service was good here, a little faster paced and more attentive than the other bars I visited in Amsterdam. For food we just had meet and pate with some excellent home made chutney. A solid stop and 4th in the Amsterdam rankings is a fair place having visited the top 3 during the same weekend. 7/8 mins walk to Arendsnest or Bierkoning / Beer Temple.

Wonderful bar! The traditional decor makes the place warm and inviting. The staff knows their beer, and is happy to help make recommendations suited to your tastes. Their tap selection are good - mostly Dutch & Belgian craft brews, but they get occasional fun weird beers from The USA and Europe. No food there, but there are plenty of places to grab a bite nearby (I recommend Burger Bar). One of the best beer bars in Amsterdam! My only complaint is they are cash only.

Canít believe I never rated this place! One of the best beer bars in the city and a "must visit" for any beer geek. Itís an old brown bar thatís like a "walk in"history lesson. Excellent service! The staff are super helpful. There is always a great tap selection and plenty of bottles too. There is no food served here but the Burger Bar is conveniently very close. Solid wi fi too. What more could a beer geek ask for ??

Finally made it to De Wildeman. And for sure I will be back, what more could a beer lover want. Good beer list, knowledgable waiters, friendly service, other beer drinkers around. Only problem is the evening only has that many hours. Love the place.

A hole in the wall on a small street almost smack in the center of Amsterdam. Fairly nice selection of taps from all over and good service. Pretty crowded usually. Hard to find a spot to sit so usually skip this place. Fairly steep prices on Amsterdam scale.

Great pub in the city centre, with a beautiful, antique, wooden interior. Decent tap list and huge bottle selection of both, local and international beer, offering traditional styles as well as modern craft beer styles. Very friendly bartenders and reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Visited in 2013. Very cool place with an old interior. Nice selection on taps and bottles. Friendly service. I had a snack which consisted of meatballs and mustard. Quite nice actually.

A cosy traditional bar with lots of wood work at the city centre of Amsterdam. The bar counter would take you back in time. I believe the bar is specialised in Wild/sour beers & hence named Wildeman. A good selection of sours on tap. They had a guest sour porter which was special & served on a traditional hand pump. The staff was very friendly & knowledgeable. Also a good selection of Whiskys and Genievre. A good stop while in the city centre of Amsterdam.
