The bottled beer list has a lot of beers that are not difficult to find, and it does not seem to change much. It is quite large, though. The draught list is very interesting, seems to change quite often, and there are some interesting beers. It has been quite crowded both the times I have been there, but the atmosphere and interior are good, and it is definitely worth a visit.

Cool pub in downtown Utrecht, just minutes walking from the railway station. While it probably hasn’t seen an interior designer in ages and ambiance does leave something to be desired, Kafé België also features a great selection of beers - both on tap, and in bottles. In addition, there’s a knowledgeable staff at work, that provides good advice, as well as friendly and dedicated service. Since the smoking ban, the tobacco fumes stay outdoors. Likely my favourite pub in Utrecht.

My favourite cafe in Utrecht! Great atmosphere, nice foods, and ofcourse a nice beerchart! Friendly personell that will gladly help you select a nice beer. Disadvantages: no table service, very crowded at night.

Bar in the old center of Utrecht. Long stretched bar to the left, some tables on the right and in the back. Can be very crowded, but we managed to get us a table. Had a great fish menu for only €10, which is the regular price for the menu of the day. Beers were good, nice selection, some rarities on the 20 taps. Popular with the alternative scene, which also shows a bit in the interior. Relaxed atmosphere. No table service indeed, you have to read the sign behind the bar to figure that out, but staff was very friendly and even offered some tasters to make a choice, despite the fact that it was quite crowded at the time. Beer prices are very reasonable if not cheap for Dutch city-standards.

It’s a nice place, especially since it’s non-smoking now. A lot of belgian and dutch beers, but not a lot of surprises. Still enjoyable to drink a couple of beers. Ow.. and ther’s no table service.

Good beer selection but place so was so smoky I couldn’t last more than one beer. EVERYBODY in the place but we was chain-smoking, and the stink was so bad I couldn’t even focus on the beer. Table service was terrible (we were ignored) but the bartender was very helpful in selecting a beer. I wouldn’t go back, if for no other reason than the poisoned atmosphere.

Really nice spot. Pretty good selection and I got good recommendations from the staff. Small and comfortable, in a great area. Highly recommended.

Located just between Bert’s and Oudaen, this should be added on your list of priorities in Utrecht. Just by the town’s main canal, this laid-back Cafe offers a very solid Belgian beer list by its size, but perhaps not as adventurous as it could be. Still, the feel of the place is nice and does manage to attract the student as much as the retired worker despite a music selection that seems geared towards some of the odd 70k students in town.

Living in Utrecht, Kafe Belgie is one of my favourite haunts. Lots of great beer, relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. Beste during the day, when it is nice and quite; hectic at night. The place is quite important in the alternative scene and if you ever go to see the Levellers at Tivoli (opposite), you’re almost sure to find the band there both before and after.

Pretty good beerbar in the centre of Utrecht. Nice staff and a great selection of great beers.
