19 reviews for Hofbrauhaus Las Vegas
| rustychiles (10), Mesa, Arizona | | August 3, 2009 Went to a vegas convention last weekend and met up with about 40 friends here. They were able to seat us all together on 3 very large tables. Separate our tabs, etc with no problems whatsoever.
The food is some of the better german bavarian style that i’ve had in the states. The sausages are all excellent, the pretzel with the various mustards and cheeses are top notch. The kraut is amazing as well.
They only had 3 beers available and the helles, dunkel and weisse.
The dunkel and weisse were well crafted, and better than 98% of what you’ll find in vegas. I didn’t try the helles.
Beers are served in 1L steins that are huge. Or if you want to go overboard you can order a 2L DAS Boot here.
But the gimmick is that if you order DAS Boot you keep the boot. (the boots are really cool but since they are large handblown glass they set you back $80 and come filled with beer) I know that similar boots (warsteiner) go for this much on Ebay so it’s still worth it if you want a beer boot.
That said, the beers were enjoyable and the food was great. They also had a live polka band and waitresses who paddled the occasional customer who requested it.
This is the kind of place that you will really enjoy with friends even if they are into macros. The prices are a bit steep, but it’s not unreasonable by Vegas price standards.
| | bleeng (68), Spring near Beersel , Texas | | May 20, 2009 Fun place to go during the convention. 4 beers available, including the Maibock recenctly. The Hefeweizen was well done and the food was good. I’m not familiar with German food but this was all tasty and everyone enjoyed their meals. Not a true beer destination but a fun place to go to once or twice a year. Good service and a fun band and dancing to boot!! The bathroom attendent was a bit weird though....I don’t need to be handed a paper towel to dry my hands... | | dchmela (52), Orlando, Florida | | April 28, 2009 You can’t go into this place and think you are going to get a great beer selection. It’s a typical german beer hall, large beers, big plates of German food, singing and other shenanigans. Go have fun and don’t think about the beer selection. | | handsomejn (19), Arkansas | | December 2, 2008 The beer selection is pretty limited, but the beer that they do have is good, particularly if you like the Germanic styles. I caught a waitress that was new, and knew absolutely nothing about beer. She was able to get my questions answered, so some there knew enough. The food was really good and the atmosphere was friendly. It is an authentic German environ, nice, clean and fun. | | ajm (161), Los Angeles, California | | July 3, 2008 [ Updated August 14, 2008 ] Service during a Germany soccer game is horrifying and a joke. Selection: on one hand, there’s not a lot. On the other, it’s kind of all you need. Not better than Munich, but still a good time. | | kp (11), Woodstock, Georgia | | May 13, 2008 OK, this place can be fun. Big authentic German beer hall complete with long tables, oompah band, and iters of German beers.

Go for a fun time with a big group of friends and leaving your rating notebook back at the hotel. But be sure to bring your wallet. | | Dogbrick (218), Columbus, Ohio | | December 19, 2007 (Visited 09/2005): Hofbräuhaus is located near the Paradise/Flamingo intersection (not too far from the Hard Rock). Thankfully there is a free parking lot in back. The building is huge and impossible to miss. Big and white with a marquee out front (celebrity guest tapping for Oktoberfest by none other than Siegfried!).
Inside the space is just as big, with high ceilings and long benches that encourage dining with strangers. However lunch on a Wednesday was pretty sparse. There is a small gift shop and a stage area for the German/Bavarian bands to play.
The beer selection is regrettably small. Only 3-4 beers are available - Weiss, Dunkel and Original, plus a seasonal (Oktoberfest) and are served in 3 different sizes. However all are pretty good.
The service here was good which should be expected on a slow lunch hour. The server was kind and made good food/beer recommendations.
Great bratwurst lunch with a good Dunkel which is my litmus test for a German restaurant, even one as touristy as this.
Overall this is a nice place to go kind of off the beaten path of the typical Las Vegas restaurant. | | Beerlando (43), Orlando, Florida | | July 31, 2007 Visited 7/29/07. Huge restaurant across the street from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Its basically broken up into 3 sections: 1) A small gift shop and bar with 2 large plasma screens at the front entrance, 2) A large dining hall with long picnic tables and a German band in the middle, 3) A large two-story beer garden in the rear. The place is quite large. We enjoyed a beer at the front bar and lunch in the dining hall. The "band" really only consisted of two guys, but they were quite entertaining. They put on a nice little variety/comedy show and interacted with the diners quite well. The food was decent. I’m not a big fan of Bavarian cuisine, but it was OK. Now onto the important part....the beer. I was very disappointed to find that they only had 3 beers available (Original, Dunkel, and Hefeweizen). I tried all three and none were anything special. In fact, they were all somewhat disappointing. Bottom line: nice place to visit for lunch (I wouldn’t bother with dinner) if you are in the area, but don’t expect a big selection or anything other than average Bavarian fare. I’m glad to have visited, but I won’t be rushing back. | | redlem (60), Illinois | | October 22, 2006 One large loud room, hey it is Vegas. Service seemed a little slow and it was not that busy. Limited selection with the selling point being the beer is imported directly from Germany. Some of the people singing seemed to be employees rather than customers to get the rest to join in, again it is Vegas. It is kind of cool to see the beer coming out in the large glasses. The beer is good if not a little over-priced. Worth a visit. | | unclemattie (104), Georgia | | October 14, 2006 [ Updated April 23, 2007 ] This is a must go to in Vegas! As soon as you walk through the second set of doors, You are in the original Hoffbrauhaus . From the paintings on the ceiling (you know what I mean!) to the beer pouring station. It reminded me so much of my short visit to Munich. We ate and drank and sang with the Umpah band for so long we forgot to check out Monte Cristo Brew Pub. Oh Well. p.s. try the dunkel. Prost. |
