10 reviews for The Shepherd and the Knucklehead Pub
| njmoons (14), New Jersey | | August 26, 2009 Friendly, Beer Focussed, Great Beer Selection (that rotates), great music on the jukebox, beer savvy staff.
Pretty much everything I want in a bar. | | lowgun1212 (12), Montclair, New Jersey | | June 29, 2009 Nice solid beer bar in the middle of the north jersey beer desert. super friendly staff, solid selection, and a nice vibe. a little hippyish on the odd night but otherwise a good range of people. RECENTLY RENOVATED for much needed more space. big improvement | NJBeerman013 (7), Trenton, New Jersey does not count - explanation | | May 15, 2009 Great little bar, with only a top end selection of imports and micros. Great atmosphere and service. | box986 (3), does not count - explanation | | June 23, 2008 This was a great find. Only Andy’s in Bogota rivals the craft beer selection for a NJ bar. Relaxing place with very comfortable bar seats and friendly staff, good selection in the juke box. A cask option would be nice. Just a nightmare to get there, traveling through the slums of Paterson is no fun. | | BiddleBrau (33), Midland Park, New Jersey | | June 9, 2008 [ Updated January 8, 2009 ] My type of place. I heard it gets crowded on weekends but on a Sunday afternoon it was quiet. Very tiny so it won’t take much to amp it up. Decent selection and the bartender was friendly. If they rotate which I assume they do frequently, I know I’ve found a good place to visit frequently. Their recent update to the interior has been a nice upgrade. | | HoppityHop (49), New Jersey | | October 21, 2007 I don’t know why I haven’t reviewed this place yet.........anyway, with 22 taps, decent prices, and a good jukebox, it might just be the best place in North Jersey. With a friendly staff and crowd, this is a great hang out kind of place that actually has decent beer. A rarity in NJ. | jblendy (8), Midland Park, New Jersey does not count - explanation | | June 5, 2007 Pretty nice selection on tap that is constantly rotated. Way too much focus on Rogue for me though. A bit of a dive overall, which doesn’t really bother me, but the staff that was there when visited looked like they were hired off the street. Bartender didn’t know the beer they offered at all. Either way, still had a good time drinking good beer. Will try to revisit earlier in the day next time. . | | tsarman (23), Northern, New Jersey | | January 15, 2005 Crazy place with Rogues galore. Interesting decor with the bathroom filled with random quotes from books. Dedicated to duality of man and Jack Kerouac. Maybe a little pretentious. | | MaiBockAddict (76), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey | | November 8, 2004 Let me start off by saying: Very Smokey, smokey! When crowded, there is no ventilation for the smoke, so I recommend getting there before 7 and having a few of the nice selection of beers that Chris has on tap. This is a very small place, with limited seating, but very friendly. I have been to this place a 100 times, but not recently. They have the second best selection in NJ that I know about, for sure, getting many of the hardest to find brews. | | Lou18 (23), West Paterson, New Jersey | | November 7, 2004 [ Updated March 11, 2005 ] This place was great when it opened, but it is becoming a college bar, which hurts us older beer lovers, but if you go early and catch Chris, you will be back. He knows beer and is a educated and well spoken bartender. |
