Similar style to the Hew Hop location but looks more industrial and less friendly (read: cold). Very large and at the end of a long hallway. Sat at bar on a weekday afternoon, the service could have been more attentive. Did not like the food prices and was not impressed with my brewers plate. But the beer was good. The locals seems to all be drinking the crappy honey wheat. I was there for the awesome Gose and the Jewish Rye. The IPA was well done as well. Visit this place when a good beer is on tap.

OK... the ambiance was a bit dull, and the crowd a bit boring. And the food pretty much crap. However, the beer is fantastic. Even the run of the mill lagers are well done, not to mention the special stuff that is just awesome. I’ll be returning no doubt. Like Joe though, a better selection would be nice.

Big high-ceilinged brewpub. Exposed brewing kit, with loads of bright shiny stainless steel. Some fairly unusual art adorning the walls and other areas of the brewpub. Two levels of seating with a small enclosed one across from the hostess station and a larger area down a short flight of stairs. Service was actually pretty poor on our visit, but my burger was quite tasty. The food is way overpriced as well, but at least it tastes good. On to the beer, most examples are pretty solid, if a bit uninspired. It would be nice to see more seasonals, but I guess they’ve got a clientele in mind with most of the offerings. The oatmeal stout and the jewish rye are very tasty, though. Definitely worth stopping in at if you’re in the area.

Right on Nassau St. in the heart of Princeton right across the street from the university. Hip but not pretentious ambience. Great beer selection, 33 of their own if I remember correctly. Actually have vegan/vegetarian options, tapas style. Can be a little crowded on the weekend. Nice dining area on the second floor.

Great location right off of Princeton U great ambiance with the long walk down the hallway into the dining/bar area that looked like it was converted from an alley. The beer vats are visible above the bar which traverses two levels. Very cool indeed. We had salmon and the ravioli and they were both great, as well as doing their standard sampling. The food was quite delicious...Not so sure about the beer... It is OK, but not stellar. Parking is a nightmare on any popular day in Princetonbring your quarters for the parking meters.

While I really enjoy their Bengal IPA, I could do without some of the other stops in the sampler. Some people really love their rauchbier, but I’m not a fan. Plus, if you want anything that’s not part of their lineup, you’re going to be out of luck. Variety yes, but selection no. Food is about average, and service is above average. Still, a great time on a Friday night. Get there before 9 pm.

Not the most impressive beers, but still a cool place to stop by if you’re in the area. Service wasn’t bad, but certainly wasn’t good when I stopped by. Just an okay place, don’t drive out of your way to go. Didn’t have any food so I didn’t rate it.

(Visited 10/2007): Triumph is located in downtown Princeton on Nassau right near the university. Street parking is abundant but finding an open spot can be dicey depending on the time/day.
The brewpub is at the end of a long entryway from the street. It opens into a 2-level brewpub with a small bar area upstairs and a long and narrow bar/restaurant downstairs. Brewing equipment is fully viewable on the 2nd floor from everywhere behind glass. Chalkboards both upstairs and down show what is currently tapped plus what is upcoming.
The beer selection here is pretty good. Aside from the typical Light to Stout offerings, there are some unique beers like a Kellerbiew and Roggenbock. Some of the beers are average but a couple are very good. Triumph also offers a sampler of their 7 current beers.
Service was good on an early weekday dinner. The place did steadily pick up while we were there but our server was knowledgeable and effective throughout. She knew the beers and mentioned that they have to sit in with the brewmaster for a day as part of the training process.
The menu during my visit definitely had a German theme and I am not sure if that is the normal menu or an Oktoberfest thing. I settled on the fish and chips and it was very tasty.
Overall this brewpub gets fairly high marks across the board. Everything from beer to food to service is well-executed.

A little pricey on the food but really good. Nice beer selection that rotates almost weekly.

One of my favoriate places to go with a really easy going crowd and bar tenders who actually know their beer on stock. Its a micro brew so please don’t walk in and try to order anything else. Their food is overpriced and not that good for what they have. However, the nice exception is they have a really good burger but its tends to get over cooked. On the bonus, service is really good. The bartenders hussle and move, and the waiters check back frequently for drinks. Beer prices float around the $5 range. I’ve heard their mixed drinks are crap, but that’s not why I go there. The beer sampler will make it worth the trip.
