It’s close to my house...that’s about the only good thing it’s got going for it. I prefer their cigar room over their food. The beer is not bad but forgettable.

This was more of a very decent Italian restaurant with the brews being an also ran in this establishment. The food was very good, the beer very mediocre. If you are in the area, stop in for some pasta and then consider having a beer or two in that order.

Basically an Italian restaurant with a meager selection of premises-brewed beer. I guess I was just a bit underwhelmed. What beer they had was drinkable if not forgettable. It’s one block from my sister’s house so I guess that’s a plus.

Come for the brew, stay for the food. This brewpub makes a higher quality brew than its sister location in Red Bank, NJ. They have a pretty pretty standard regular line up (pale, red, light) but their seasonals are on the money. Try the bock in winter. Basil’s serves mid-range ($15-$25/plate) Italian bistro fare. I’ve been here many times and always had something different on the menu, and never been dissappointed. The place is decorated in dark wood and even has a cigar lounge. It can be pretty loud on a weekend night when they bring in the live music.

Good place to get a cheap good beer when needed. A rugular at the place, the staff has changed a bit, but still pretty good. The burgers and pizza are really good, the regular entres are over priced for what you get. The beer is good, some rather generic styles, would like to see them make a few more interesting offerings

I found all of their beers to be on the hoppy side, which is just fine with me. The menu leans towards italian food. Have the porter, it is outstanding.

The glasses were washed in those blue water sinks. Bartenders not educated about the product, or on how to serve/pour beer; however, my tender was very attentive. Food is pretty good, but not great compared to the many mom and pop Italian joints in NJ The place is more of a locals hangout than a serious beer bar. The Barnegat Light was the most popular that I saw people order when I was there. They were out of their porter and stout on this visit.
