JoeMcPhee | I’ve got to thank the crowd at Barcade, because if it hadn’t been for them, I don’t know when I would have gotten here. Very cool interior with high ceilings over a curving bar, salvaged tables and chairs and a great old jukebox at the back. Shuffleboard on the side is a plus. A good selection of taps and a very nice selection of bottles (the Goudenband is terrific) that are very reasonably priced. There is a very chill vibe to this place that I really like. I’ll be back.

beastiefan2k | Named after Diamond David Lee Roth, you know the bar is going to be fun. Nice interior with shuffle board, cool white area behind the curved bar, trendy old tables and chairs. Some exposed brick and an outside area, looks cool inside. Selection is decent, nothing too special one-off rare-type stuff but they know beer and get decent taps (i.e De Dolle). Bottle selection is decent ranging from $4 cans of New England brewing to $30 BFM and a vintage list with 92 Goudenband and old Harvest Ale. Service was good, owner was there serving. Some small food dishes available, including cheese plate and pickles/olives, thats all I had and it was good, the other things seemed appetizing as well. I will return.

notalush | A little off the beaten path, but in a way this makes it a draw, because it’s not crowded with trendy Williamsburg hipsters - nice all hardwood interior, with a small, curved bar - some small areas of exposed stainless steel, but otherwise nice and homey inside - the interior and outside patio were clearly built by someone with an eye for design - the whole place is artsy yet comfortable - the beer list is split between strong beersand session beers, both getting their own board - they don’t have anything you can’t find anywhere else, but you won’t want for quality product here (I got a full pint of Defiant Farmhouse ale for 7 bucks - I had paid the same price at Blind Tiger for 12 ounces earlier in the day) - like a cleaner, less pretentious, less crouded, but less impressive (beer-wise) Spuyten Duyvil - if I lived in the area I’d be here every night.

PilsnerPeter | Since this place was opened by a former Spuyten Duyvil employee, it’s very similar to that place. Small, cozy ambiance with a half-moon shaped, solid wood bar. The bartender was not very knowledgeable when it came to beer, but he was very nice. I happened to be there just as a wedding party was ending so there was a huge table full of smoked meats and cheeses, crackers, fruits & nuts, so that was a big plus. They did have some nice bottles like BFM Abbaye St. Bon Chien, JW Lee’s Harvest 1997, Liefmans Goudenband, and others. They also had Rodenbach Grand Cru on tap while I was there, which was a big plus. Decent place, with a welcoming atmosphere.

| maltydog | New (July 2007) addition to the Northern Brooklyn beer bar scene. They have 8 drafts, and also should soon have weekly gravity casks. $2 off happy hour 5-7:00 p.m., including bottles They have approximately 50 bottles, including a section of session beers, and to my great interest, Val Dieu, Rochefort 6, Saison Pripaix, several De Dolle beers, J.W. Lee’s Harvest, Gale’s Prize Old Ale, and A. Le Cocq’s Extra Double Stout
