Sammy | A fairly basic bar, no present heat on a colder day, and a very good set of taps. Pales in comparison to its next door neighbour, Coles, but still has a variety of good taps from across the globe. Known as a college hangout, with lots of tables and pretty dark inside. Suggests to get your pint or two and move on, not hang out. The area itself is a relatively decent band convenient part of Buffalo. Only one server, but he hustled to serve a fairly good sized Sunday aft football crowd. At least two dozen taps on, Cask only on Fridays.

crushinat0r | Well, it’s a divvy bar, no question about that. But we talked with the bartender Bobby for a long time about beer. We got to try a wide variety of GREAT beers and he even through us a few samples. The wings were good too (but definitely don’t get them until you’re done rating beer! They kill the taste buds with their deliciously hot sauce). If you like to try great beers, check this place out.

jerc | Retardedly cheap. $3 for PINT of Rogue Imperial Pilsener! For american customers its a solid beer selection. For Canadian customers its an experience where you want to grab as much as you can before someone takes it away. Atmosphere is not as sunny as Cole’s next door but gets the job done. Patio is nice enough. I will be back for sure!

illinismitty | Stopped in here before meeting Rudy and Tim on weeknight. There are around 30 taps of decent beer that cover a decent style spectrum. I had no trouble finding a few pints to rate. Plus, prices are cheap. Pretty much a dirty college bar type atmosphere, and lots of smokers. Music was too loud for conversation, and they don’t take credit cards! WTF? Given that it is right next to Coles and they offer some beers you can’t get at Cole’s, it’s worth stopping in....for the beer that is.

frylock | Good selection of taps, which included the very rare Lost Coast Old Ale, the last time I was there. The crowd can really be hit or miss. If you go early or during the week and you will be good. Show up on a weekend night and the place will be packed drunken college kids, who aren’t there for the beer selection.

spkldhenlvr24 | Spacious bar with plenty of room to walk around. Dimly lit. 30 solid taps. Good range of beer. One bartender really knew his stuff. Themed food and beer tasting on Wednsday upstairs and you can but tickets for in advance. Go to Coles on a Friday for a burger than to Goodbar for $2.50 pints, cannot go wrong.

mds | As Tim and Rudy have mentioned, this is a very convenient spot since it’s right next door to Cole’s which is a can’t miss spot in Buffalo IMO. Though there is some overlap at Goodbar there are some exclusive taps that can’t be found at Cole’s such as the Kulmbacher Eisbock and Schwarzbier. I didn’t try the food. I’ll likely come back here just to see if they have anything interesting on tap...and I’m sure they will. The main area is a large room with pool tables and such, kind of strange that it was very empty on a Saturday night at around 21:00-22:00?

IPFreely | A pretty spacious place, long bar and lots of room otherwise. Actually kind of empty feeling but it’s not bad. Owner is a beer lover, the employees might not be but they’re friendly and accomidating. Usually a pretty good tap selection. Pair this with Cole’s next door and you have a very nice beer destination.

rudolf | Mr. Goodbar is solid. Mr. Goodbar is my home away from home. Yes, they have a trough in the mens room. Yes, it can be loud on Friday and Saturday nights.
This place is the real deal.
Bobby & the rest of the staff are great (just be sure to enunciate when it gets loud, lest you end up with something you didn’t want) Beer club is a great event. Prices are ridiculously cheap, especially Friday nights. Casks on Fridays, Happy hour w. free food on Fridays.
DYCsoccer would call me a ’homer’ for saying this but this, especially combined with Cole’s next door, is one of the best beer destinations in the United States.

original rating: Always some solid taps here - bear republic, Lost Coast, southern tier, brooklyn and more. This place has no atmosphere, but if you want to play pool or darts with some friends and have a good beer while you do it this is the place to go. Avoid this place on Thurs, Fri and Saturday night as it is full of college kids rockin’ the 50 cent natty ice deal. Staff is friendly, they’ll pour a nice sized sample without any thought of charging you.
Next door to Cole’s.
All pints on Fridays are $2.50. Nice.
