Visited on 4th of July. Excellent tap and bottle selection, plus a selection of vintage beers. Had the deviled eggs app and thought it was tasty. Nice pub atmosphere that is not too cramped, but I am sure it must get really busy at night. Bartender was by herself and not the warmest person, but poured the beers quickly. I am glad I don’t live in NYC anymore, because I would be spending a lot of time here. Great place.

Visited this place right after a Smuttynose tasting. Many rare offerings from this brewery. Nice old style bar. Staff was knowledgeable for the most part. Don’t try them all and try to make it back to Brooklyn on the subway!

A long time favorite in the Village. Seems to have really taken off in their new location, as finding a spot can be a real headache after about 5. Arrive early and have a chat with Alan, he’s a great guy. Wednesdays are often enhanced by the addition fo some rare beers by a guest brewer. Great beers, good food, nice people, and right across the street from John’s Pizza, what’s not to like?

Great atmosphere - lots of wood, old tables, great view of the foot traffic on Bleecker. Lots of good taps, a few nice casks (when I was there they had Green Flash & Storm King). We were there earlier in the day and had no problems with overcrowding. The selection for the Vermont beer tasting which happened to coencide with my visit was a great treat.

Gets obnoxiously busy, but man are their beers well priced for being where it is. Visited there twice last summer and enjoyed some of their over priced bottles...including a 5 year vertical of heavyweight old salty and two bottles of cuvee de castleton

Great beer selection. Reminded me a lot of Toronado in San Francisco. A little too loud and crowded for my taste, though.

This is my favorite beer bar of the moment in NYC. The selection always delivers, just as good if not better than Hop Devil, but the service is way better and the overall feel of the bar is much more comforting. The food is also pretty damn good. I’ve only had a few samplings but I loved all of them. 2 thumbs up!

Very good list of taps and good vintage bottles (e.g. Struise Pannepot). Really good food and event list as well. Nice spot in the West Village. The main cons are that it can get extremely busy/crowded (small place) and that the events start so early (4pm) on weekdays. Then again, otherwise, they would get crazy busy, so I guess you can’t have it both ways. Overall, great.

I travelled across town to this place based on all the recommendations. First, we were met with a big goon up front acting as doorman. I guess that is the price to pay in the West Village. Upon entering, we were immediately beset by a too big crowd. It was very hard to get the bartenders attention, let alone ask anything about any beer. Getting jostled about by people after we got our beers made me spill half mine. I was not happy about that. Selection was pretty good, and they did have two casks going, but nothing really mind blowing. Overall, its just way too small and crowded for me.
