| CUJO (13), Brooklyn, New York | | June 24, 2009 Been here many times, never remember walking out the door! The selection is good, not great. The service is about the same. The food is awesome, bukctes of mussels go great with brews. It is however, expensive! | | mouse725 (14), Albany, New York | | April 4, 2009 Tables a little cramped, not the friendliest staff, but great ambiance anyway. Soccer always seems to be on, and they have a good deal of beligian beers on draft or in bottles. Not the cheapest place (too pricey for dinner) but a great place for the before 4pm brunch. Must try: French toast. SO amazing. | | linc33 (29), Albany, New York | | March 25, 2009 A good stop if visiting Times Square. Atmosphere/ambience is fantastic, really does feel like it’s a "world away" as another rater said. Service with a sneer; don’t expect personal repoir with the staff. French (Belgian?) toast is TO DIE FOR - without a doubt best I’ve ever had. Go before 4 to beat the crowds and hit the brunch menu - dinner is ridiculously expensive. Beers aren’t cheap, and selection is relatively limited. | | puzzl (70), New York, New York | | February 6, 2009 A nice stop in the middle of the Times Square area that feels thousands of miles away. Not a great selection of beer, but the house Ommegang beer is good and is a rare rating. The food was pretty crap, honestly, but I still enjoyed this place if only for its authenticity in the middle of one of the craziest places in the world. | | TeamTrappist (13), jericho, New York | | August 18, 2008 Stopped in on a Sunday, which I am told is their quiet night. Sat at the bar. They have a decent all you can eat mussels special on Sundays and Mondays for $20 and it comes with a Stella, we passed on ours. They had a decent tap list 10 or 12, and some standard but good bottles. Nothing much in large format. This is a decent place if you find yourself in the neighborhood, a bit on the pricey side. Food was above average, service with a smile and an attitude, clearly letting us know we were not regulars, but not a bad place. | | jredmond (31), New Jersey | | July 1, 2008 [ Updated May 8, 2009 ] Stopped in for a brew after a night class in the city. Place caught my eye from outside, I just prayed it wouldn’t be too overpriced for the location (between 6th and 7th). The prices werent outragous - but a little pricey. Majority of beers go for $7-10. Glassware seems pretty legit - seemed to have all the beers they offer. On Draft: Chimays, Marsedous 8, hoeG, Lindemans, Palm, Rodenbach Grand Cru, Karmeliet. (sp?) | | rlgk (79), Vårgårda, Sweden | | March 10, 2008 Close to Times Square. A nice place, yet rather crowded and loud when I visited. Nice belgian-style beers, but not a huge selection. | Drink4Satan (4), Bristol, Rhode Island does not count - explanation | | January 17, 2008 Located adjacent to time square, the location couldn’t be any better, also being only blocks away from the station. The Duvel logo printed in the awning drew me and a buddy in. The place was dim-lit and loud, filled mostly with business men and attractive women. The place was packed for a wednesday light. I was impressed with there glasswear, having every appropriate glass for each brew, all of which were belgian or belgian-style, like Ommegang. There were several beers I wouldn’t exoect to see on tap, and was impressed to see so, including Triple Karmeliet. The bottle selectiion was nice, too, with Orval, Rodenbach Grand Cru and many more. The bartenders were nice and the wait staff was attractive and helpful. The food looked and smelled nice, appearing much better than your standard pub and grill crap, though I didn’t have the food so I won’t rate it. The walls were decorated with metal signs of all the brews they carry. I definitely be stopping by again after a show or something. | | pineypower (19), Pine Barrens, New Jersey | | February 22, 2007 Wondered over here after finding a brewery a few doors down (not naming any names here) was closed at 9pm and was rather rude about it. Dimly lit with a relaxed atmosphere. Bartender was very friendly and helpful. Interesting taps with some good bottled also. Had Hennepin on tap also their house beer brewed by Ommegang, which was an interesting brew at 6% with nice flavors of coriander. Food smelled and looked good, so I threw it a 6. Found it cool that they had all the glasses to match the beer. Will be returning here next time in the city. | | JoeMcPhee (241), Jackson Heights, New York | | May 9, 2006 Long narrow place with a few taps and and several bottles. A lot of it is stuff that is fairly common, but the beer is well cared for and the bartender knew what he was talking about. Cool ambience though. Worth stopping in on the way to a show, but I wouldn’t make a whole night out of this place as the selection isn’t quite what it could be. | View Page : 1 2
