vicsson (2), Toronto, Ontario does not count - explanation | | July 10, 2008 I stopped by here Jun 25 at 11:30 AM and 3:00 PM. It appeared to be closed for good. | | Eyedrinkale (129), Astoria, New York | | May 25, 2008 Cool place if you’re in the area. Go down the few stairs and you’ll be greeted by a dozen taps of all craft beer (maybe a Guinness also). They have events now and then. The food is standard bar fare. Say hi to Roof or Brie when you’re there. | | cellardoor (17), St. Louis, Missouri | | March 4, 2008 I’m so happy to have found this place. It’s the only place of its kind in east midtown. It has a very fluid rotation of drafts available from both coasts and abroad. The server was very knowledgable and always helping people try new things. The food options are basic but the nachos I had were better than most places. You have to love the laid back, conversational vibe without all the scenesters that tend to find gems like this. Being from the midwest I tried more regional beers from Brooklyn and Smuttynose but they offered beers from all over the states (Bear Republic, Dogfish, Goose Island) and abroad. They also have a bunch of beer events. I’m planning to catch one of them during my time in NY. And not be out done they have the very best jukebox I’ve ever seen. | sexandbeer (1), does not count - explanation | | February 4, 2007 This place Kicks ass!!! Finally a real beer bar on the east side of Manhattan . I got there at 10:30pm on Sat night and stayed all night. The place was busy. The Brew master from a large NY brewery was there with a big group and they were there till closing. The bartender was super cool and knowledgeable. They had a great tap selection including - Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye, Stone Smoked Porter, Six Point Sweet Action, Delirium Tremens, Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar, Dogfish Head 60 minute, Victory Prima Pils. The bottle selection was amazing and they had numerous Belgium specialty beers. The food menu has really good classic beer food and they have platters for groups.
The juke box was awesome. A best of classic assortment of Punk, Blues, Classic Rock, Alternative, New Wave.
They even have a dart board in the corner.
A beer drinker’s oasis!!!
