Chelsea is back with a vengeance! Great new place in the Bronx...great new digs! The family is still running this place (say hi to Colleen & her daughter Meghan!)...and they’re really nice people. There are more beers now too...some of the old favorites you know and remember (Checker Cab Blonde & Sunset Red)...but lots of new ones...Hop Angel IPA, Alpha 5 Pale Ale, & Arrogant Hipster Sour. The new place is big and roomy with lots of character. Craftbeer is happening in the Bronx! Check out an old familiar friend that you know and miss (and couple it with a visit to the nearby Bronx Brewery).

Great view of Hudson River, especially at sunset; huge place which is usually quite empty, due to its being a bit out of the trodden path I believe. Of course, only the house beers are served, which would be at least 7-8 any time. Great atmosphere with copper vats, etc. Nice place to chill by yourself and consume Chelsea beers, one after another

Have paid 3 or 4 visits to Chelsea over the years usually when walking down the Hudson to cut across and stroll the High Line. All of my visits here have been lunchtime/early afternoon and the place has always been dead - literally half a dozen or so other folks. The place is a fairly large ex warehouse type of affair with a raised curved bar, brewing equipment behind, then a large room surounds it with an upstairs level and a patio/marina area out on the Hudson. 3 to 5 house beers usually on offer, solid enough but nothing to whip you into a frenzy. The two times Ive sat away from the bar the service has been pretty lame especially when considering there were so few people there and the place was dead. Once after waiting for 10 minutes to be served we had to ask at the bar, the other time they messed up the order. Take it or leave it place tbh and unless you have a reason other than this brewpub to be in the neighbourhood - I’d leave it!

After a few hours of rock climbing decided to stop over for a brew and to grab place tick. I’ve been here before like 7 years ago but beer was just beer back then. Awesome location and looking over pier on nice day is great. Classy brewpub with ok beers, ok service, but for touristy kinda place u could do much worse

Visited in February 2009 and in May 2012.

2009 was my first trip back to NYC since the towers fell so I took the train down to the last stop, checked out the statues, walked the construction zone that were the trade centers, and then decided that it would be a good idea to hike up to Chelsea... This predated my smart phone so I didn’t quite realize how far it was. Normally I dont mind some exercise, especially after a weekend in Boston drinking strong ales, but in February with the wind blowing this was no fun. By the time I arrived it was ready for a pizza and a flight of beer. Actually I ordered a pint of the strongest beer they had after I finished my food and beer.

The beer wasn’t all that good but it wasn’t bad either. The oatmeal stout may have been the best. The IPA could be better if it wasn’t buttery. The rest I didn’t care for. The personal pizza also wasn’t good. Either I chose poorly or this place really isn’t that good. There weren’t a ton of people there either so I’m not sure what kind of crowd they’re catering to. At least the view and location are good. Service was alright too.

My second trip was slightly less eventful but the beer was a little better. I’ll take that as an honest improvement as I’ve definitely gotten more jaded since my first visit.

Visited on Monday midday. Few customers. Slow service. It was a bit hard to tell who’s customer and who’s one of the staff. Some people were swimmingly drinking on both sides of the bar... The place felt a bit empty and soulless. 6 taps. Spent 3 beers there only because it was pouring outside.

Great location on the water. The beers range from average so slightly above average if you’re lucky. I’ve only ever been here in the afternoon, so I’ve never seen it busy. That being said I’ve enjoyed good service the few times I’ve been here. Probably not really worth going out of your way for, but I’ll always pop my head in if I’m in the neighborhood and see if I can grab a tick or two.

Terrible food, mediocre beer, great location. I’d only recommend this place if you really wanted to tick, or possibly if you were in the area already.
