austinpowers | Lame, formulaic, sterile. And the upstairs smelled. Pretty lame for NYC. Selection was nothing special: a German, a UK selection, Anchor Steam. Come on guys! Try a little harder. At least pretend to be into beer! Mark my words, this place sucks so bad compared to Stout NYC and the other almost-as-lame bars in Midtown that House of Brews will go under in the next few years. It’s that lame.

yobdoog | Now my review is similare but I have not been to this location quite as much. Still the food is basic pub type food with some entres to choose from. They do have a descent bottle list and some good taps same as other location but nothing very unusual, no new releases and nothing rare. The prices are also a bit inflated just like the other location. I mean, you know its a chain. Nothing unique between the two.

onehotsexychic | Tiny and 3 of the beers on my menu were out of stock, and most of the rest of the menu I could find at home (Albany) so it was a bit of a let down. Make sure you ask for the big menu it has some bigger, more expensive bottles (again nothing special) and when I was there there were 6 choices and 4 were barleywines... so... yea.... go to Stout or Copperfields...

Prcaus | Very impressed by this small bar. For a small, poorly lit establishment in a decent NYC area its selection was awesome. They were pretty thin about popular choices, and seemed they were more focused on what the owner likes. The bartenders make poor selection mainly based on what you want, and honestly the owner is rude and will try to hurry you out if your not a spender. The locals are really nice, and the best source of information though for local brew houses.

| craige | A bar that claims to be the best beer bar in the city had better be pretty amazing. This place touts 80 beers, but that’s really not a lot at all when you consider that they have beer from all over the world. So, there are only a few from the regions that produce the most interesting beers and a smattering from the rest of the world (7 from Belgium and 3 from Germany, for example). They are simply spread too thin. And plus, is it really useful to sort the beers by where they’re from as opposed to their type? The place is on restaurant row, so it attracts plenty of tourists and Broadway show crowds in from the suburbs. It’s clean and well-lit and the bartenders are nice, but I won’t bother going back. Especially not when Collins is only a few blocks away.

JoeMcPhee | A welcome addition to the Times Square neighborhood. Solid selection (they had Bolshoi on tap when I was in). Average prices for the neighborhood and a bit more sterile than a place like the Collins, but you’ll get no complaints from me about this place. I didn’t have any food when I was in, but menu has all of the usual suspects on it.
