Pretty cool place to stop and have a couple brews while you’re walking around midtown Manhattan. The beer’s ok; not great; not bad. The decor is... well... decor. I sat at the bar and ordered no food. Service was decent, not great. No smoking allowed, which is nice. Unremarkable brewpub in a remarkable location within a remarkable city. It’s not going anywhere. Stop by after a play. OOPS! I GUESS IT’S HISTORY. STOP BY HEARTLAND BREWING COMPANY INSTEAD!

This is a brewery that IMO will not make it under their current setup. Inside you see a basic run of the mill warehouse scene. They actually have more macrocrap than they have their own brews and their beers are lackluster to say the least. Wait staff are rude and do not want to be there. No attempt was made to educate them about the beers being offered there. More dirty looks and being ignored after I finished my sampler. Rather than stick around, I took off. A more accurate description of the "scene" is tourist trap/business happy hour stop off. If I could, I’d give this place a -10 for service.

The decor of the place is actually pretty decent. It definitely has an art deco kind of feel to it. Too bad that prohibition was at the height of art deco, because the beer as like what was brewed then: near beer. In all fairness the Dunkel wasn’t bad, the others that I tried were almost BMC clones. We only had appetizers during our vist, and they were quite good. Some of the other food going by did look and smell enticing, but we didn’t have the time to sample any. Unfortunately, the kitchen was very slow when we were there (even though the place wsn’t very crowded) and ended up taking half of our order with us. You shouldn’t have to wait an hour for appetizers at 5:30 in the afternoon. The wait staff seemed nice and efficient, but the kitchen speed needs work.

I have to disagree with JoeMcPhee here - this place was unforgettable! Easily the worst brewpub experience ever. They can’t be seriously trying to make beer. Huge, cold, metallic warehouse ambiance with low blue lights and lots of empty tables on a Saturday night. Server was upset that we ordered a couple of sampler trays as most people were sitting at the bar and drinking martinis or macros. Very loud atonal music added to the fun. The beers displayed a varying degree of brewing flaws and infections. I cannot imagine anyone drinking a full pint of any of these. I could not finish a two oz. sample. I didn’t try the food. I’d be scared to. Not planning a return any time soon.

Vacant, spartan bar furnishing, like a set for the old SNL ’Sprockets’ skits. Vapid beers - color it red it’s Pale Ale, color it brown, it’s porter. The service was good enough, can’t speak to the food.

One of the worst brewpubs experience in my life. Extremely generic and yet with multiple flaws beers. Awful modern-looking empty and artificial feel, very loud, annoying, disturbing music, expensive. Sad.

Nice place. Big restaurant with nice food. But go to the second floor, you can chill out there. Nice beers for acceptable prices. Nice.

This place was forgettable. The food is better than the beer, but that’s not saying much. There are five location scattered around midtown and it definitely isn’t the place for a beer snob, unless you’re just trying to knock out some ratings. The place looks great and attracts a surprisingly diverse clientele. Everything I had was full of diacetyl and acetaldehyde. The server didn’t know anything about the beer and brought me a seasonal without telling me that they had more than one and offering me a choice.

The beer was very forgettable. If I’d known how lackluster it was going to be, I’d have had a pint of water! The wait staff had no beer knowledge, the food was only fair (and overpriced), and the abience was non-existant--nothing to even indicate that you were in a brewpub. Don’t go if you can help it.

Weird I had a different memory from that place and the memory wasn’t good at all. But this time I found it ok atmosphere wise. The Service was very nice and quick. The selection was ok. The food was greasy and typical pubfood but I wasn*t thrilled at all.
