| DeadGirl (39), West Palm Beach, Florida | | October 11, 2009 I had my 21st birthday dinner at Rohrbach’s. The German food selection is phenomenal and filling- I’ve always gotten something different and to this date I haven’t been dissapointed. They have a fully stocked bar with a handful of their brewed beers on tap. Samplers are the way to go (my favorite is their Bluebeary Wheat). I enjoy their beer because I know they take pride in their establishment. The only slight downfall is that they have only one TV in the place. #10 on 11102009 DG. | | AskForJenny (19), Ontario, New York | | July 17, 2009 Decent selection of a diverse collection of beer styles. Something for everyone on tap, and it’s fresh tasting too. Menu has no surprises, and the food is good. Bar staff is helpful when you have their attention, and it seems like they’re always answering the phone. Growler fills are reasonably priced. Place is clean, but I still wish they stayed at The German House location. | | decaturstevo (59), decatur, Tennessee | | September 23, 2008 Would recommend a stop by if in area. Good beers but as with most places I go they were out of a couple of their beers. The ones I had were much better than your average brewpub offerings. The food was very good as well. Quite place in the dining room the server was good and the food was good as well. | | KyotoLefty (131), Kyoto, Japan | | September 21, 2008 A nice place to go. Lots of their own beers, and they are generally very tasty. Good atmosphere, good food. Tuesday night deals are great value. | | RunDWP (11), San Jose, California | | August 25, 2008 Sort of a local neighborhood hangout. I had a German sausage sandwich, great saurkraut, and German potato salad, four 6 oz beer samplers, and a great German chocolate torte for under 20 bucks. Beer selection largely limited to the house brews, which are good, not great. Nice little place in Rochester, and I plan to be back next time I’m in town. | | notalush (159), Denver, Colorado | | May 23, 2008 This place was pretty much identical to all of the other semi-rural brewpubs I’ve been to - standard cabin/roadhouse/lodge kind of atmosphere - lots of unfinished wood and dim lighting - the folks working were awfully friendly, though, and there were lots of locals there, which the staff seemed to be on a very friendly basis with - the food was decent, as was the beer, but nothing so great that it will interest anyone but locals (a bunch of standard, ho-hum session beer when I was there) - I guess the same can be said of a lot of brewpubs - a friendly atmosphere for locals, but nothing fancy for the beer snob - in short, if I were a local I would be here all the time, but I wouldn’t recommend it to out of towners. - this is the only brewpub I’ve seen serve macros in bottles, though - points off for that - if you make your own beer, why encourage people to drink swill? | | blipp (21), Newark, New Jersey | | May 11, 2008 I’ll add my two cents. The food I had was really good, but that’s my style so I’m a little partial. Yeah the beer isn’t the best in the world but it’s worth trying. The scotch ale is good and they had a barrel aged barley wine on when I went. Also, if you get a chance to drop by the new brewery on Railroad St. on Saturday mornings it’s worth poking your head in for a bit. | | shadey (31), Rochester, New York | | December 20, 2006 [ Updated August 21, 2007 ] The location on Buffalo road is clean, well lit, friendly and there is always tasty Rorhbach beer waiting on tap. The food includes standard bar fare, as well as some more German meals like brats and sauerkraut. Good place for dinner, or just a few pints. | | muzzlehatch (255), Burlington, Vermont | | November 28, 2006 Very much a family sort of place, located seemingly in the middle of nowhere in an undeveloped area on the fringe of the city; more suburban-rural than anything else. Cozy roadhouse atmosphere, and obviously extremely popular, it was near- packed when I showed up Friday afternoon around 4 pm and impassable when I left an hour later. Service super-nice and friendly if not terribly knowledgeable, menu had a nice seasonal (Oktoberfest) theme and the soup/salad I had was good....beer was not terribly good but drinkable and the place was so pleasant I’m tempted to return anyway. |
