July 19, 2009 The mellow mushroom is a great pizza place with a wonderful selection of local brew on tap, including some of the highland brew and French Broad. It’s located in downtown Asheville’s historical district right on the hill. A walk down the road will give you a beautiful view of the blueridge mountains. It’s quite a trip checking this place out, aside from the psychadelic colours and art that are all over the inside of the restauraunt as well as the outside, i can’t say it enough- the pizza is great! |

July 1, 2009 This place far exceeded my expectations. 70 beers on tap, including 4 or 5 from each of the great local breweries- Wedge, Pisgah, Highland, etc. Lots of other NC beers, too. Great waiter who never let our glasses get empty and talked us into an outstanding pizza. I’ve never been to a Mellow Mushroom before but will be back if I get the chance. |

June 23, 2009 First stop on my Asheville bar tour. Pretty extensive beer list including lots of local North Carolina beers. Service was shitty, but there were tons of hippies in town for the Phish show. Pizza was good and also had a steak sub there the next day. |

May 24, 2009 A bit above average than your typical Mellow Mushroom. I did find it odd that with such a nice amount of "shroom" decor, they did not have the ’mels’ and ’femels’ bathrooms, which I thought was a staple for mm’s. The pizza was not quite as good as other locations, but the beer selection was well above par, with a terrific selection of locals, regionals, and seasonals. The patio outside is a great way to enjoy a slice and brew while doing some hippie-watching. Just be prepared to share your meal with the birds - they’ll eat it right out of your hand! |

September 8, 2008 I always visit the mushroom when i am in a town that has one. This one is exactly what you expect... hippy servers, great pizza and a nice selection of brew. Never lets me down. |

August 26, 2008 I love the Shroom. A must visit after blowing your wad at Brusin Ales. Awesome pizza. Beer selection is not bad. One of the better Mellow Mushrooms. Lots of dred-locked hippies to help you out. |

May 22, 2008 First time at a Mellow Mushroom. Great service and very tasty pizzas. Waitress was from Harrisburg, PA. She even brought me a couple of tasters of local stuff without me asking. Nice beer selection and decent prices. |

February 22, 2008 Went in for a beer after leaving Brusin Ales. Typical Mellow Mushroom ambiance, except there was an honest to goodness band of hippies playing music out front, with passers-by joining in by singing and dancing. Bigger beer selection that most Mellows I have been to. Quite varied and the two beers I had were fresh and tasty. |

February 13, 2008 Been here several times, once before I was drinking alcoholic beverages legally. Pretty sick selection of local craft beers along with a solid core of other craft selections. Pizze and zones are pretty good too. Groovy place, didn’t ask how much it was for an eighth. |

January 30, 2008 Went with my friends and girlfriend, in the heart of Ashville, NC. Yea, this place does have a hippie feel to it, the service was not to bad and the food wasn’t that bad either, I shared a pizza. The beer selection impressed me, when I was there I had a Celebration and a 90 minute draft. Overall it was worth going. |
